The Dummies Guide to Banging G-Club Girls Part 2 by BigBabyKenny

(Note: This continues from The Dummies Guide to Banging G-Club Girls Part 1)

Let’s talk about money.
Specifically,

  1. How much should you budget to patronize G-Clubs.
  2. How much should you pay the G-Girls you do bang.
  3. How do you negotiate price with the G-Girls you bang.

G-Clubs cost money. There is no way around it and no way to beat or finesse the system. There are no happy hours, sales, or promotions (except for existing members).

G-Clubs exist by providing a particular service to a certain market demographic.

The demographic does not include close to the line, balloon chasing, happy hour researching expats or wide eyed, wet behind the ears, clueless tourists and hometown heroes out for a night on the town between their pre-paid pre-packaged 3-day tour of the floating market, the elephant farm, the Bridge over the River Khwai and the mandatory 2 hour stop at the Royal Gem Market. The target demographic is Asian businessmen and upper middle class and hi soi Thai men who live or do business in Thailand and know the system.

The pricing model used in this market segment is for the price and services to be fixed and known upfront.

You pay the price and the goods are delivered. Instead of worrying about whether the girl drink you just ordered cost twice as much because it “allegedly” contains premium whiskey, the shot of tequila is 99% water, the girl whose shot of water you just paid for will disappear after 30 seconds, etc. etc. etc. etc. at G-Clubs you receive and enjoy what you paid for. So if you are looking for a way to G-Club on the cheap, I will cut to the chase—there isn’t one.

One positive feature of the pricing model, is that you can predict accurately what patronizing a G-Club and hopefully banging the G-Girls will cost and you will not spend the evening fending off the cheesy 2-bit scams of the farang oriented clubs.

The In and Outs of Buying a G-Club Membership.

G-Clubs sell memberships.

Non-members can patronize the club and try to use The Fast Way to bang the G-Girls but your batting average will not be that high.

To really enjoy the G-Girls and the G-Club requires going multiple times and for multiple visits buying a membership is most economical.

Memberships typically cost between 25,000 and 40,000 THB at the foreign businessman oriented G-Clubs in the farang areas.

Memberships in Thai G-Clubs cost 10,000 to 20,000 THB with most costing 10,000 THB.

G-Club memberships are not memberships in the traditional sense. They are more like buying a gift card at Starbucks. A 25,000 THB membership means you have a 25,000 THB credit that must be spent before a certain date. If you don’t spend the 25,000 the credit expires and the club keeps your unspent money. If you are a member using up your gift card, you receive a discount on everything you buy—typically 10-20% depending on the club.

Members also receive free mixers with their bottles of whiskey. Typically bottles of water and coke cost 60-80 THB. On a typical evening, you might go through 5-10 bottles of mixers. If you don’t have a membership, the mixers will add an additional 400-800 THB to you bill.

One scam that G-Clubs pull is to load up non-members with mixers. Don’t let them do it. Rather than leaving the waiter alone and letting him go crazy with the mixers, tell him exactly how many bottles of what you want. Of course, if you have a membership it doesn’t matter.

You also get to choose how your money is allocated—just buying bottles of whiskey, buying bottles of beer, or paying girl fees. At the Thai G-Clubs, the membership is typically only allocated to whiskey. The girl fees are paid ala carte albeit at a discount for members. It pays to do the math when you compare the different allocations offered because the ratios are sometimes off and one allocation makes one item, bottles of whiskey, bottles of beer, or girl fees particularly cheap or expensive.

When you are buying a membership some negotiation is required. What is negotiated is the amount of money you are pre-committed to spend and the period in which you have to spend it. Most of the time the salesmen will tell you that a membership costs 35,000 THB. What she won’t tell you is that they also have 30,000, 25,000, and 20,000 THB memberships. From the point of view of the club any membership is a good deal for them. The bigger memberships just mean a greater chance that they will expire partially unused. Most G-Clubs give you a year to use up your membership but you can sometimes negotiate a longer term.

The proper way to negotiate is to place the salesman in a position where she has to present all of the membership options up front rather than offering the one which is most profitable to the club first and only offering additional options if you turn down the initial offer. The correct way to do this is to tell the salesman you want to buy a membership and ask what are your “options”. This forces the salesman to explain all the options available rather than just the ones he makes the best commission on.

As the salesman explains each option, i.e. how many bottles of whiskey are included, are mixers free, etc. etc., question the salesman about them. For instance if he says the memberships include 10 bottles of whiskey ask what brands of whiskey you can order, what is the surcharge for better brands, what if you drink beer, etc. etc. etc. When he says the membership is 35,000 THB ask him if there is a 25,000 or 15,000 THB membership.

A typical scenario is for a new customer to spend a night drinking and partying at the G-Club and when the bill is presented, the host will explain that if you buy a membership right then (when you are probably inebriated) they will put the nights bill on the membership, apply the member discount, and not charge for mixers, etc. If you buy under this scenario you are likely to get screwed because the membership you buy will be the most advantageous for the club and the least advantageous for you.

The G-Club Budget

G-Clubs cost more to patronize than GoGo bars. How much more depends on how you G-Club and how much and what you drink.

There are actually two distinct G-Club markets—the Asian businessmen oriented G-Clubs and the Thai oriented G-Clubs. The Asian businessmen clubs are the ones frequently discussed on the internet and located near the farang areas, e.g. The Pent, Sopranos, Forte, The Resort, etc. The Thai oriented G-Clubs are sprinkled around Bangkok (Huey Khwang, Sri Nakarin, Petchaburi, etc.) and frequently don’t even come up when you type them into the Google search box.

The profile for an Asian businessmen G-Clubs is for memberships to be in the 25,000 to 40,000 THB range and for the girl fees to be in the 400-500THB for 40 minutes range.

The profile for Thai oriented G-Clubs is for the memberships to be in the 10,000 to 20,000 THB range and the girl fees to be in the 250-300 THB range.

Choosing a girl typically means paying a double fee for the first 40 minutes and most clubs have a maximum number of fees for the evening typically 6 to 8. Some clubs don’t charge a double fee for the first 40 minutes and some charge a triple fee. Because most of us are at the G-Club to bang the G-Girls and not to schmoose Takahashi the regional purchasing manager from Toyota, the girl fee structure matters and is something you should inquire about when you are purchasing a membership. Any club that uses the triple upfront fee should be avoided, e.g. Sopranos.

So let’s break down a typical G-Club visit or at least give you the tools so that you know what to expect or can compare the cost of G-clubbing to your normal outing.

If you arrive late and choose a girl you are typically going to pay 4 girl fees for 2.5 hours. At a Thai club, the girl fees will add up to 1000-1200 THB. At a foreign oriented club, the girl fees will add up to around 1600-2000 THB.

Computing the cost of liquor is not straightforward because everyone drinks differently.

I don’t drink, so one bottle of whiskey usually last 3 or 4 visits—about 500 THB per visit. If we had any bar owners reading the blog, they could probably break down the cost of a bottle of whiskey and tell you how many drinks a typical bottle yields and you could figure out what the per drink cost will be. You will have to do the math for yourself and figure out what your alcohol tab will be depending on how heavily you typically drink.

Unfortunately, most G-Clubs are financially hostile to beer drinkers. At most Thai G-Clubs bottles of beer cost 300 THB. At some foreign businessman clubs, a beer costs 500 THB. If you drink 5 or 6 beers your beer bill will be hefty.

G-Clubs are set up for whiskey drinkers. The imputed cost of bottles of whiskey with a membership is about 1700 THB at the Thai clubs and 3000 THB at the foreign businessman clubs. If you don’t finish the bottle, they store the bottle and bring it out when next you visit.

If you spend two hours visiting 3 GoGos on Soi Cowboy and buy one drink for yourself and one lady drink at each bar you are going to spend about 1000 THB. A visit to a Thai G-club costs around 1500 THB and a visit to a foreign businessman G-Club costs around 2500 THB.

If you drink heavily, two drinks at each GoGo and one lady drink at each bar,a 3 GoGo Soi Cowboy visit will cost 1500 THB—about the same as a visit to a Thai G-Club.

Making any comments about whether something is expensive or cheap always pisses someone off but I will have a go at it anyway.

Many expats who fail to wrap their head around the mindset of those who come on holiday albeit extended and frequent ones — what seem to be irrational decisions are quite rational when one considers the different restraints and resources available to different people.

Many readers make their money in The World and come to Thailand on holiday. In Los Angeles, going to a nightclub costs $15 to park my car and $20+ to get in the door. Low quality mixed drinks and beer are $10-15 per. Entering the club and buying one drink means spending more than $50—1650 THB at current exchange rates. If you order 3 or 4 drinks the bill will be around $100-3300 THB. Double this if you bring a date. These are the financial facts of life in most large cities around the world—New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tokyo, London, etc. For these readers, the extra 500 to 1000 THB of G-Clubbing vs. GoGo’ ing just doesn’t matter or it can easily be made up if the experience is superior. For these readers, G-Clubbing is a good bargain.

Those who come to Thailand on holiday have already bought a plane ticket and paid for a hotel—expenses that typically add up to a couple of thousand dollars. It is irrational debating whether to spend a couple of hundred extra dollars over multiple evenings going to a G-Club vs. slumming it in Nana Parking Lot every night—after you have already paid airfare and hotel. For these readers, G-Clubbing is a reasonably priced addition to the repertoire.

Others have ample money whether they earn it in Thailand or brought it with them from The World. Spending an additional 500 to 1000 THB per outing 2-4 times per week just doesn’t matter to them. You can read endless internet pontificating about beer prices on Soi Cowboy being raised 30 baht but for many people an extra dollar per drink, whatever the reason or lack of reason for the increase, just doesn’t matter. For these readers, G-clubbing, if they like the G-Club experience, is copacetic.

On the other hand, if you are an expat making 40-80,000 THB per month, your entertainment budget is only large enough to make one or two trips/barfines to Soi Cowboy each week, and you like the G-Club experience there are some real choices to be made.1

G-clubbing intelligently is more expensive than GoGo’ing but not by an inordinate amount. If you patronize the Thai G-clubs which are superior independent of price, the cost of GoGo’ing and G-Clubing is mathematically different but close enough to be functionally equal.

What Do You Pay to bang G-Club Girls and How Do you Negotiate Price?

(Note: If you want some advice negotiating within the farang barfine ST/LT structure see The Dummies Guide to Negotiating Price with TG Working Girls by BigBabyKenny.)

What and how do you pay the G-Girls you bang?

Banging G-Girls is ruled by a completely different pricing system than GoGo and FL TG’s.

If you are using the Fast Way, you meet and take home a G-Girl the first night, the girl is likely to ask/expect some money. If you are a farang it is possible they may try to set the price in advance. This is a reasonable precaution for the girl because she is not sure what you are expecting. Because a barfine/ST-LT fee system is not used in G-Clubs there are no norms for the girl to fall back on—especially in Thai G-Clubs that don’t see many foreigners. A farang GoGo girl you take home knows you have paid the barfine, expect to bang her, and will give her a fee within the normal range. A G-girl who has only seen you once and doesn’t know what you are expecting may want some certainty before proceeding. This is reasonable and you should negotiate.

If you are using the Slow Way, things get interesting.

At Thai G-Clubs, you are dealing with Thai G-Girls that don’t see or have much to do with farangs or the farang GoGo/FL scene.

The Thai girl scene is separate from the farang market and there is not much bleedover. The G-girls at the Thai G-Clubs might have heard that farangs pay more in the GoGo’s of Nana and Soi Cowboy but they have no direct experience and probably don’t have any close friends that do—remember most of these girls are not from Issan. In their world, attractive desirable girls who do the equivalent of ST/LT usually get 1000 THB per—the ugly ones get substantially less.

If you are regularly patronizing a G-Girl you are already providing her a stream of income. You are not in a one-night stand ST/LT strictly business situation. The English word Sponsor is sometimes used to describe this relationship. Being a Sponsor means when you take home a G-Girl from a Thai G-Club, you are in a middle ground between a girlfriend and paying for sex and are a lot closer to the former than the latter.

This is one of the things that makes G-Girl banging better than banging GoGo and FL’s. At Thai G-Clubs you frequently encounter Thai girls who go to school, live with their parents, and have normal lives-especially among the hostesses as opposed to the coyote dancers. They are not banging guys several times a week for money. In fact, banging guys for money is not something they do. They live off their G-Club salary, struggle to make their monthly quota, and like most normal Thai girls don’t have many prospects. When a decent guy comes along who is interested in them they are usually overjoyed and you are frequently the only current prospect they have. It is hard to wrap your head around the idea that there are young sexy attractive beautiful girls who have no significant male interest but in Thailand that is Thai girl reality.

At a recent G-Club visit, there were 30+ girls in the girlpen around midnight. The mamasan identified 5 girls who spoke English for my friend who speaks no Thai. The 5 girls stepped forward and one was chosen. Walking to our table when my friend’s back was turned, three girls gave the chosen girl the thumbs up sign and flashed her big smiles—as if she had just scored a touchdown in an American football game. The girl was 22, lived with parents and sister in a two room Bang Na apartment without aircon, went to Bangkok University for two years and had to drop out because of lack of money. She spent two hours dirty dancing and grinding, spoon fed my friend fried rice like he was a baby, engaged in a high school style make out session complete with French kissing after which she politely wiped her lipstick off my friend with a clean napkin, allowed and seemed to enjoy having her pussy and breasts gently massaged through her clothing, and mounted a determined, concerted, highly skillful, entertaining to watch, and ultimately successful effort to make my friend want to see her again. At the end of the evening, no tip was asked or expected. The girl changed into her street clothes (a cute stylish hello kitty style dress and matching heels), walked us to our taxi, gave us the correct wai and requested we choose her again on our next visit. Being chosen is not that easy for most G-Girls. Being chosen by a guy who is not married, has money, and is a possible Sponsor is not that common and G-girls try to make the most out each legitimate opportunity fate throws their way.

The first time you take home and bang a particular Thai G-Club G-Girl don’t offer any money. This is normal. You are already giving her money by coming to the club and paying her fee. It is not necessary to give her more money and she does not expect it.

On subsequent go rounds, the G-girl will eventually ask for money and you should dispense some. Offering money after each bang runs the real danger of insulting the girl because it means you are treating and thinking of her as a prostitute which in her mind she is not. It seems a silly distinction but in the G-Girl way of thinking there is a big difference between an Issan GoGo girl who goes home ST with a farang for 1500THB and a Bangkok G-Girl who goes home with a regular customer. One is legit and the other isn’t. Weird but true.

Personally, I keep an imaginary secret account where I credit 1500 THB for each time a G-Girl comes home with me and let the girl make a “withdrawal” when she wants. The secret account always maintains a positive balance and has never zeroed making G-Girl banging, excluding what you pay at the club, cheaper than GoGo girls—plus you get to play the role of kind generous big hearted benefactor/Mac Daddy all while saving money and banging better fresher hotter girls..

What a fucking great country! I love Thailand. :)

When it comes to Thai girls, Thai guys do a lot of things right. The Thai G-Club G-Girl payment system leaves control in the hands of the guy. The girl renders services before getting paid. If the girl gives you crap, you can cut her off and she loses the accumulated credit in her account. Under the Thai system, the girl pays for giving you a hard time instead of the wrong way around in the typical farang GoGo transaction.

At the foreign businessman G-Clubs, you are frequently dealing with G-Girls familiar with foreigners. At these clubs, the farang ST/LT system has infected some of the girls and you encounter one of two situations. Sometimes the girl asks for a large cash payment after each time you take her home. Other times you find yourself in the sponsor situation common at Thai G-Clubs. You have to feel your way and figure out which situation applies.

My general advice is to stay away from the foreign businessman G-Clubs (The Pent, Sopranos, The St. Moritz, Narcissus, Forte, etc.) and patronize only the Thai G-Clubs. The foreign businessman G-Clubs are more expensive to patronize and your chances of hooking up are less than in the Thai G-Clubs. You also encounter girls who go home with you but demand a large cash payment (5000 THB+) each time you bang and they frequently bang like short timing farang GoGo girls. If you wanted this you can get it at a farang GoGo, Q-Bar, Spasso, The Bed, Conrad, and CM2 much cheaper and with much less trouble. You never encounter this situation at a Thai G-Club. The Thai G-Clubs are cheaper, the girls are fresher, the attitudes are nicer, and the opportunities for banging are better than the foreign businessman G-Clubs discussed on the internet.

I’ll try to write a couple of posts about specific Thai g-Clubs in future posts.

yp - each to his own.

I enjoyed it. I enjoy g clubs and I will stand by my belief that I have met girls in g clubs that u would never meet in the gogo scene. maybe in a club but u would not be able to approach them so easily. I am still thinking the best way to explain all this but then again I don’t care if people go. better for me.

Good 2-part article. Not sure if your footnote is a bit of a slap/put down, but the piece does make me want to try out the G clubs if I ever get up there. Unfortunately, the slow way could be nigh impossible for those of us from out of town.

BBK: you asked about the actual cost of a bottle of whiskey and how many drinks a bottle typically yields. The cost is 600-1000 baht and will yield 20 drinks on average.

Your condescension towards tourists who make the trip to Kanchanaburi was unnecessary. Granted the bridge is underwhelming. The museum, war cemetary & Hellfire Pass are not & well worth the trip. I found the experience very moving. If you haven’t been then I suggest you make the effort. The submissions subject matter is interesting & worth reading. As with most of your submissions it would read better if you edited the superfluous references.

Waited for the 2nd part before commenting and I thought it was very informative and give the user a lot more confidence walking into a G-Club. Good posts BBK.

I basically live opposite a G-Club, many times I go to get my late Oishi Ham & Cheese sandwich at 7/11 to find a few G-Girls in there. Very friendly bunch.

an aside to Young Royal’s comment: I used to live on soi 8 near Lolita’s. Seeing the Lolita’s girls in the 7/11 was a daily thrill for me. I saw one buying a spicy bites hot dog once and almost creamed my undies. Mom would be so proud of me these days.

I thought this was probably the strongest entry I’ve seen from BBK… the first half (condescension towards tourists aside) was a clearly written factual summary. As a g-club member I’d say it was accurately written.

The second half demanded a little bit of ‘what if-ing’ which I never enjoy but it was largely unavoidable. I would suggest that in my experience, I have to spend MORE money at a go go bar to get the same experience I get in a typical 3-hour visit to a G-club — usually two or three girls devoted almost exclusively to my entertainment. And I get the entertainment in a more comfortable atmosphere, with good service and a minimum of hassle.

The big difference against BBKs assertion that the go go is less expensive is that I NEVER take hostesses to my table — I always invite the coyote dancers over. You pay for a hostess’s time; the dancers spend time with you at their discretion. Generally I pour most of their drinks from my bottle, and if they are good fun and stay for a while then I buy a lady drink or two for them (because I know they have to hit a monthly quota).

As a member, I typically will visit the G club once every week or two, so I get to know the girls fairly well. If she consistently makes things fun for me, she knows she can count on me to keep her moving towards her drink quota on a regular basis.

I frequently go with friends and primarily for the fun-factor, because I’ve never been in much of a position to get laid there. No worries… I go grab a girl at the Nana Hotel Parking Lot afterwards if I’m feeling the need.

I understand JDs comment; when I am out to get laid, I prefer the sure thing, especially as I am not young, handsome or charming. But I OFTEN go out without the express purpose of getting laid. The G club offers a comfortable, high service environment

My membership cost 20K baht and included 11 bottles of whiskey. Each bottle of whiskey can be traded off for 10 bottles of beer, making the math easy… 20,000 baht divided by 110 bottles of beer = 182 baht each. Hardly an amount of money that will break the bank. The idea that G-clubs are extremely expensive is based more on the situation where you enter as a non-member, and where you are entertaining hostesses for several hours (they cost about 500 baht and hour to have them sit with you). BBK said that members get a discount of 10 or 20 percent — this relates to lady drinks and the like. Bottles of whiskey for non-members are nearly double the member prices and beer is usually more than double.

Also, I know from experience that the membership is presented in the simplest possible terms (x bottles of whiskey) but you can trade a bottle of whiskey for damn near anything (ie. tequila, beer, etc). Also, you don’t need to make that decision at the time you buy your mambership… talk to your sales lady (mamasan) and she can make adjustments on the fly.

I’ve been to some (not many) Thai oriented G-clubs, though I’ve never taken a membership. I enjoy them quite a lot, and I have always been able to find English speaking girls there. These days my Thai is getting good enough so it doesn’t matter much whether we speak in Thai or English. I can’t discuss world politics, but I can make ‘bar talk’ about where I live, work, how long I’ve been here and whether I like to be on top or bottom.

I expect the debate will never end, but I think Kenny did a good job of identifying the general differences between people who have an interest in G-clubs and those who don’t.

One other factor I’ve never seen mentioned is that you can put TWO signatures on a membership, which effectively means you can split a membership with a friend if you want, making the risk and upfront commitment a little easier to manage.

Shit… sorry. My comment’s almost as long as BBKs post. I got carried away. :p

It has been proven scientifically impossible to make a comment that is longer than a BBK submission.
    To paraphrase a well-known local blogger….

A word to the wise - a BBK submission is long. Really, really long. If you took all of werewolf’s responses to a BBK blog, Portsmouth bound Peter Crouch, the extended versions of all three Lord of the Rings movies, Darth Maul’s lightsabre, the length of time it takes the staff at Gulliver’s to make BBB a f*cking sandwich, the snake from Indiana Jones 4, the whip from Indiana Jones 4, the amount by which Indiana Jones 4 stretches the concept of suspension of disbelief, an footlong ham sandwich from Subway, the sign from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch train station and doctorbonds’ penis, and laid them all end to end, they still wouldn’t be as long as a BBK submission. That’s how long they are.

    Ghost,

    No slapdown intended.

Your recent posts are the most informative ever about Pattaya. I found the information about Pattaya politics, which and why bars were closing, and the different cost structures in Pattaya vs. Bangkok fascinating. The discussion of prices by you and TAKFABB was the best that has ever been written—so much more accurate and trustworthy than what you normally read on the internet.

What was really interesting about what you’ve written recently is that when you get to the bottom line, the difference in cost, and multiply it times the number of times you transact each month do you come up with a significant number—an amount of money that matters?

A lot of what is written on the internet about prices is written from the perspective of an expat living very close to the line. That is why there is so much internet information about the Beergarten and Nana Parking Lot and very little information about G-Clubs. That is why there is so much written about small absolute changes in drink prices/barfines in Nana and Soi Cowboy and why the upscale venues in these locations that are trying to charge a little more for a better environment and product get bashed all the time. These are the places those posters patronize and the issues which matter to them.

    Pmmp,

At 15-20 drinks per bottle that makes drinks from a 2000 THB bottle of whiskey at a Thai G-Club about 100-133 THB each and from a 3000 THB bottle from a foreign businessman club 150-200 THB each—cheaper or about the same as at a farang Gogo and I think the quality of the whiskey is better.

Maybe it is actually cheaper to drink at G-Club—as long as you drink enough to use up your membership?

    WW,

IMHO, your comment would have been more entertaining and easy to understand if you had included a couple of poker references, used longer more obtuse sentence structure, and gone off subject more.

    BigBabyKenny

P.S. personally, I love to sit in on or get to overhear a good well-informed, sometimes emotional, hard, fought debate between a group of longtime grizzled close to the line expats about

1)Whether the extra 20 baht being charged for beer at Bar A where the girls are buck naked is worth paying vs. Bar B where the girls wear a skirt which is actually more like a belt and no underwear and you have to bend down a bit to be able to get a clear look at their pussy.

2)Whether the free French fries last weekend at Bar A’s anniversary party were juicier and more tender than the free fries at Bar B’s anniversary party.

Yes they are long, and i really enjoy that specific point, because, you know, summer days in a wholesale shop catering to westerner are way, waaaaaay longer… Beside that there’s some good info inside ^^

    Way to go bbk :)

ps: I’m wondering if i should add the usual “if you don’t like it, just…” oh well, you already know the end, right ? ;-)

    @ BBK

I completely agree I don’t really give a bag of shite how much things cost in Bangkok - just knowing it is a fraction of the cost of home is enough. I always end my trips by stuffing cash back into the bank.
Of course, I earn my money in ‘the world’ (as you would put it) I guess it is different for the ex-pats in this community.

There’s a bar on Cowboy where I know most of the long-timers there, the mamasan, and many of the bar staff. I don’t go there to get laid — though one girl I’ve known for 3 or 4 years asked me to bar fine her younger sister as she was brand new to the scene and hadn’t had a customer yet (now that’s a fringe benefit). Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, I go in there because it’s fun to hang out. The regulars know I don’t usually bar fine girls from there as I don’t want to create any hassles between the girls. They keep the money hungry girls away and make sure I can go in there and drink without being disturbed.

All in all, I end up buying several lady drinks, get to have a good time, and it’s one of the few places I feel completely comfortable going out by myself. For me, I think I get fair value for my money. I’m entertained and drinking for 3 - 4 hours for less than what it would cost me to go out and have a couple of drinks at a LA or London nightclub.

If I’m in the mood for something more I grab a FL on my walk down MM back to my hotel.

But after reading several posts here and on WW’s site I think I may start checking out the G-Clubs. The cost would only be slightly more (in a relative sense), the girls are prettier, and worst case scenario I’m picking up a FL on my way back to my hotel. Same same but better :-)

These 2 posts (part 1 and 2) are very informative, with lots of details on how the G clubs work and the cost structure. But we are missing the essential information here: precise examples. Something like “I’ve been to this club, banged a girl after x times and paid x baht (or 0 baht)”.

I know that some are gonna say that this is not all about banging and money. But yes it is. It is called “The Dummies Guide to Banging G-club girls”! Or should it be called only “The Dummies Guide to G-club”?

The question has been asked in comments for both posts, but not answered: how many G-clubs girls did you bang? And I would add: How was it? Did they do more than “lay on their back and think of Issan”?

I’ve missed you Kenny. I’ll be back in town this weekend; maybe we can get out together next week. I’m much nicer in person (as long as we’re not discussing Thai monetary policy after several happy hour drinks).

Two excellent articles for those that have heard about but never been to G Clubs. Really most of the people reading this blog are in or go to Thailand to bang the girls. (Some exceptions that may like the lady boys as well). So given us readers who only have a limted time to experience what BKK has to offer, your insight is appreciated.

Many tourists only get time to do the Go Go scene in their 2 week annual binge. It’s easy to connect and more affordable than the home grown product. You have now given us another avenue for entertainment and enough info not to go away feeling we have been scammed.

Good post BBK. Something about Thailand can turn even a well-off a man into a cheapskate. I’ve seen Westerners chase songtaew drivers down the street for the 20 baht change they stiffed them out of. But then again, if you live here and earn Thai wages, I guess it all counts. I’m still not sure that’s the source of most people’s reservation though. I think people are bothered about the return they get for their investment, not the size of the investment itseld.

From reading your posts I get the impression you like making a sport of p4p and you like Asian businessmen’s style - apologies if this isn’t true - so I guess the G-Clubs are perfect for you when you fancy mixing it up a little.

Me, I’m still not so sure I could be arsed. It’s not because I’m broke or wide-eyed, though maybe I’m not jaded enough to forgo the ease of the typical foreigner hangouts. Maybe if I lived there and wanted to meet the type of girls I’d admired at Emporium or on the Skytrain, it’s where I’d head.

The paragraph describing the Bang Na girl’s efforts to impress your friend was pure poetry BTW.

Interesting post, BBK. I have avoided the G-clubs on my trips to Thailand for one reason, and it’s a stupid one. I don’t like the idea that I have to sign up for a 35k membership. I know with the whiskey it’s not a bad financial proposition, but even though I drink pretty hard when I’m on holiday I sure as hell can’t knock back 15 bottles of booze in two weeks and have anything like a good time. Also, one of my fave things about BKK is the variety of night life, it’s always fun to step out of the hotel at 10.30 and say, ‘Hmm, dinner? Go-go? Posh night club? Dive bar? Hi-so Thai joint where I’ll bother everyone just by being a cracker? Beer garden? Vertigo?’

However, with a cheaper membership and using a particular g-club as a ‘launch pad’ most nights it could work out.

Also, I hadn’t read your ‘guide to negotiating with TGs’ before. One thing I think is funny is one you point out–lots of times (most of the time?) the 20 year old girl with a ninth grade education is a much sharper broker than the middle aged businessman she’s negotiating with. I’ve seen a few TGs where I thought, ‘Hey, if she spoke better English I’d LOVE to have her negotiating the haircut on our credit default swaps back home.’

Anyway, thanks for the tips. Lessee, I only have to wait another eight months or so before I can try them out . . .

“From reading your posts I get the impression you like making a sport of p4p and you like Asian businessmen’s style - apologies if this isn’t true - so I guess the G-Clubs are perfect for you when you fancy mixing it up a little.

I’ve been out with Kenny several times, and we’ve been together in several environments.

I have to say that apart from maybe smitty, BBK is the most adventurous guy I know when it comes to the number and variety of places he’s happy to go to.

I’ve seen him at the Big Mango & the Duke, and shared some happy hour drinks with him at Coyotes.

We’ve hit the gogos a bit.

We had a night out that started in a Thai nightclub on Srinakarin Road where our party of two supplied the only white face in the joint, moved to a traditional Thai karaoke bar and then to the Nana Hotel Parking lot. A short time later we each had a girl and went to eat a 3 a.m. dinner at Foodland Soi 16 before splitting up to go home with our girls.

Kenny and I went to Sutisan Road (near Saphan Kwai) on two consecutive nights to investigate the Thai go go bars there. On the first night Kenny grabbed the most beautiful dancer in the place 20 minutes after we walked in the door, and took her back to his place, leaving me to fend for myself.

We’ve hung out at Gullivers and Thermae. We walked into Thermae — a place that I don’t like very much — and 15 minutes after we walked in Kenny approached me with two hot Thai girls, introduced them briefly, and then apologized as they were leaving to go back to his place for a late night sandwich.

Kenny’s first Bangkok G-club trip was with me to the Pent. That’s when I met him. We returned there several times, and I’ve also been to the St. Moritz, the Resort and the V-Club with him.

I tried to get him to go to the big Thai nightclubs on Ratchada Soi 8 one night but he wasn’t interested because he’d been there too many times already and wanted to see someplace new!

From parking lots, to freelancer bars, to pubs & restaurants, to farang go go bars & G-clubs, to Thai nightclubs, Thai karaoke bars and Thai go go bars I’ve seen BBK attack each one with an open mind and a great attitude. I’ve never been to the massage shops with him, but his previous posts have made it clear that he’s been there and done that too.

I love going out with Kenny because he’s a pleasant guy with an open mind about venues to have fun in. On one night out we started by walking into a club that was EMPTY at 10 p.m. — just me & Kenny there. We left and took a cab to another club we’d seen with a big neon sign that turned out to be a private club that we couldn’t enter. Back in the cab for the third time I mentioned to Kenny that anyone else I knew would be getting irritated with me by now. He only asked “why?” and commented that you can’t find a great place without a bit of searching. The next stop was a very fun Thai nightclub with a live band and several hundred Thai customers.

A night out with Kenny is a lot of fun. Kenny writes essays… he doesn’t tell a lot of stories, but I guarantee that he knows his way around Bangkok; he knows his way around Thai girls; and his range of interests and hunting grounds is broad.

Kenny can talk for himself, but I know that the way he writes often leaves readers with a clinical feeling and that some wonder whether he has any real life experience to back it up. I just wanted to say that he really is a guy who is devoted to finding the fun, wherever it might be in Thailand.

Great insight BBK, as I have never been to one, bit maybe one day.
I did once go to some strange place called DV8 with Smitty & Pmmp, but they put gay pills on the table which bothered me alot!(LOL). Good piece of backup writing as well WW.
Just one thing. I went to the River Kwai & was quite overwhelmed by the whole experience, as some of the local regiment died there. It was very moving.
I also hear that there is a small scene up there too! My driver told me so, as they stay overnight when taking tourists on a stopover.

TAXI WILL COST ABOUT 70 BUCKS US. ITS PROBABLY A SIX HOUR TRIP ALL UP. FOR ANYONE REMOTELY INTERESTED IN THIS STUFF IT’S WELL WORTH IT. THE CEMETERY IS A PARTICULARLY TOUCHING TRIBUTE TO A LOAD OF GUYS THAT NEVER MADE IT BACK HOME. INTERESTING TOO!! If you’re going to Kanchanaburi, I’d suggest allocating about an hour or two to the bridge and associated sights, and spend the rest of the time at the Erawan National Park swimming under the waterfalls. It’s a lot of fun, imho.

I’ve had my first 2 g-club experiences the last 2 nights; mega-uber props to smitty & pmmp for arranging. I had an out-and-out effing blast and am in your debt.

No wait, never mind that. G-clubs suck. Nobody should ever go.

If you do go, and if you plan on pursuing the long way, be warned that when you leave the g-club, with memories of those impossibly gorgeous coyote girls dancing with, flirting with, and grinding, groping and macking on you fresh in your head, you should either:

    1. Make sure you’ve got a sure-thing 8.5-10 from your cell phone harem on call with the engine running, or

    2. Leave before the soapies close, and with enough $$ left to buy yourself a sideliner session, or

    3. Get your extra premium, special occasion, 4 kleenex internet porn off the shelf, or

    4. Bring your viagra,

b/c the standard fare after-hours FL, unless she’s got some special talents, just ain’t gonna get the blood flowing in the same direction.

    @ Smitty…..
the answer is staring you in the face right there…….
‘Big Mango G Club Banging’ for Playstation - drinks all cost 50 Baht and you hit off big time with all the cuties straight away. No waiting, no building up a rapport - and with the new vulcanised groinal attachment (patent pending) you can be churning your butter as soon as the game has loaded.
You can select your wingman from a dropdown list - werewolf, big baby kenny etc etc
Get your nerds working on this game - could make you a fortune.

@ Ghost - Fashion Club is a bonafide G-Club, only cheaper than bkk. Lday drinks are 250THB, bottle of Chivas around 800THB with 2 month drink cards given if not finished on the night. Three levels of membership can be bought.
Its part owned by Russians I think, but the farang component on any night would only be bought 20%

At the entrance of the club, turn left and go through the fringed curtains which is the coyote room. The right hand side room has a live band and disco set up. Coyotes also work in this section although obviously not as many as the coyote section.

The girls are all hot and everynight has some kind of ‘theme’. My personal favourites are air hostess and na suk sa, where the girls wear their uni outfits, sans uni badges.

@ Smitty - Neverland is off Kaset rd and then hidden up a side soi. Its also situated next to a pretty classy love hotel

Interested in knowing what G Clubs would be most recommended. The criteria should be: overall talent, girl to guy ration, attitudes and willingness to have fun.

Seems I’ve read a lot of good and bad posts about the Pent, Forte and the like, but was hoping to get a better overall feeling for what the general assessment is.
