It is not hard to meet attractive girls in Thailand. In later parts of this guide there is information on dozens of bars, clubs and go-gos designed to bring Thai ladies and foreign men into contact.
But you will also see an astonishing number of very attractive women all over the city at any place and at any time. They are all approachable, but not in a very overt way that may embarrass them. Thailand is basically a conservative country in moral terms outside of the bar scene. Better if the girl you plan to approach is alone rather than in a group, better if there are not a lot of other people around watching you and her together, and better if you are well dressed (no shorts!), clean, and can speak at least a few words of Thai.
If you are wearing shorts and a scruffy t-shirt and approach a hot looking Thai girl in a food court (lots of people around) while she is with friends, she will be highly embarrassed and can’t wait to get rid of you. If you are wearing smart casual clothes and approach a girl on her own as she leaves a store, sits drinking coffee in Starbucks or waits for a bus, your chances of her being friendly are far higher.
Then all you have to do is get her to talk with you. One of the best things about Thailand is that in most cases, attractive young girls are approachable and even a bit flirty. They will not avoid your gaze, will return a smile with a smile and are rarely rude to a stranger.
When opening up a conversation, best to keep it simple, such as “Hi my name is…..do you speak any English?” - a line that always breaks the ice followed up by a request for help – such as that you have two tickets for a concert and need to take a partner. I have used a technique at least once that worked like a charm. I walked in front of a very cute girl looking puzzled at my mobile phone. I stopped and asked her if she could help me with a problem with my phone in Thailand. She agreed. I then told her the problem with my phone was that I had been in Thailand for a while but my phone did not have her number in it. I spoke slowly and clearly to make sure she followed my English. She laughed, took the phone, and entered her number into it. Problem fixed!
If you have the opportunity to work in Thailand you will probably encounter a lot of lovely ladies in your office or place of employment. It is usually a bad idea to try to date these girls. You really don’t want all the staff in your workplace gossiping about you or learning too much about your lifestyle in Bangkok. And you will have to overcome the embarrassment factor for her to be seen to be dating a farang amongst her friends and work colleagues.
As in any other country, the best places to meet regular Thai girls outside of the night time options are in health clubs, sporting clubs, social gatherings, private parties, product launches, trade shows, weddings and events such as concerts. You can also get sick and spend time at one of the many tremendous hospitals that are scattered all over the city – with the hottest nurses on the planet wearing the sexiest of uniforms (the reception area at Yanghee Hospital is like being on the set of a great soft-porn movie)!
The best places to see and meet an amazingly large number of hot looking young Thai girls are at shopping centers and in or around the many universities there are in Bangkok.
The best shopping centers include Siam Square and MBK (Mahboonkrong) that are very popular with young Thai girls. There are also several late night markets (some even all-night) that sell very cheap girls clothes that are extremely popular. More up-scale shopping centers such as Emporium (Sukhumvit Soi 24) or Siam Paragon are also great for girl-watching. But to have a good chance of actually approaching a girl and getting that all important phone number, you might be better off looking further afield. The shopping centers in the suburbs are less well-travelled by foreigners – which makes your presence all the more interesting and different and you are likely to get a much better, less jaded, response. The newer massive shopping centers out on roads such as Ratchadphisek (check out the huge Esplanade complex), Lad Prao (like Mall Bangkapi) or Ramkhamhaeng are far more promising to have girls talk to you if you approach them.
Then there are the Universities. Bangkok is overflowing with students. And in Thailand, all students at University need to wear a uniform, which the Thai girls manage to make into one of the sexiest outfits in the world. The Open University at Ramkhamhaeng has the largest number of students of any University in Asia – over 130,000 – the majority of which are girls. I spent time last year working close to this University, and sometimes sneaked in to have lunch. Words cannot describe the view of literally thousands of young Thai girls in sexy uniform that gathers there every day.
Many of the “PR Girls” and the “Pretties” or even Coyote dancers that work across the clubs of Bangkok in the evening are students during the day. This is especially true for Ramkhamhaeng which has the lowest entry standards for students (girls I know who attend this Uni seem to get away with not knowing much or studying anything for years at a time). I was lucky enough to be at one G-club in Bangkok late last year at closing time and saw all the coyote dancers go to get changed into their regular clothes, and was rather surprised when more than half then emerged wearing University uniforms to go home. The funny part being that they looked much hotter in their uniforms than they did when they were on stage a few minutes before.
Other Bangkok Universities with a fair number of girls who work in the night scene include Assumption, Rangsit, King Mongkut, Mahidol, Kasetsart, Srinakharinwirot and the Rajamangala University of Technology. All of the Rajabhat institutions (formerly teacher training colleges) are also packed with hot looking Thai girls.
There are two prestigious Universities in Thailand that are both in Bangkok – Chulalongkorn (whose campus is right next to Siam Square and MBK) and Thammasat. Most of the girls who attend these colleges are either from hi-so (rich) Thai families or are very smart and have gained entrance through scholarships. That makes them unlikely to be very receptive to approaches from middle-aged foreign men – not that it doesn’t happen, but it is not likely to get as positive a response as at some of the other Universities in the city.
It is not hard to talk with the Uni students. If you happen to be around almost any shopping area or place with cheap food that is close to a University at lunchtime (11:30-12:30) or after classes normally finish (4pm-5pm) you can’t really avoid them.
And finally, before we proceed to part 2 of this guide and the nightlife, there is of course now another way for foreign men to meet regular Thai girls – and that is through the Internet.

There are also a large number of online marriage services catering mostly to men who are not planning to regularly visit or live in Bangkok. I would not recommend any of the sites associated with Friend Finder (such as Adultfriendfinder) since they are mostly rip-offs. There is a very active dating scene on dozens of popular Thai-language sites (such as www.sanook.com or www.kapook.com) but it is only really for locals.

I’ve also seen a few from time to time around Soi 3, but really hit or miss and as you say most are on the Nigerian national wrestling team. I think the biggest thing to put one off going to any of those African countries and mingling with the girls is surely the real and serious threat of AIDS. I think a far more dangerous and prevalent threat in that part of the world than in Asia and anyone that argues it is probably in denial and wanting to tempt fate.

Seems there is a contingency now of African women roaming the streets around the Grace Hotel, at least there was about a week or 2 ago. Your right about the nurses. I had to see a doctor regarding a problem that needed antibiotics and the nurses at the clinic were simply stunning. I was hoping for an overnight stay just so i could taken in the delights and mabe try and get some numbers. Those outfits, fucking sexy and the smiles that go with it, just devine.
