The Pattaya Ghost - Issue #12: Bangkok Dangerous

Think back to your very first experience with Thailand’s nightlife scene. Did you ever wish you could experience it all over again knowing what you know now? Well, The Ghost got the rare opportunity to do just that this week when I made my first-ever romp through Bangkok’s naughty nightlife areas.

Why I spent this long in-country without ever making a visit to Nana, Cowboy and elsewhere is now a complete mystery to me. All the pre-conceptions and excuses that I used to put off trips to Bangkok have been totally debunked. My longtime assumption that it would be basically the same caliber of entertainment as Pattaya in a more expensive, overcrowded, and self-absorbed setting was completely wrong. In fact, I had such a fun, unique four days I now can see myself regularly hopping on the Bangkok bus instead of a songthaew to Walking Street.

Getting There and Back

Bangkok's Miracle Mile

Bangkok's Miracle Mile

The biggest mental obstacle stopping me from visiting before was simply the hassle of getting there. A previous trip years ago going to the embassy and then getting around Bangkok during the day for shopping was such arduous, traffic-riddled debacle it totally put me off wanting to do it again. But the opening of the new expressway linking Bangkok and Pattaya has turned a long, hot bus ride into a painless journey of less than two hours. Even on the return trip, with daytime traffic and lots of stops near Pattaya, I went from Ekkamai station to the Pattaya bus station in 2:15.

Of course, nothing ever goes perfectly. Tuesday night, when I arrived at Ekkamai it was sprinkling lightly. No big deal, right? Four stops later when I stepped off the Skytrain at Nana station the skies had burst open and the rain was crashing down in tsunami-sized waves. By the time SideshowBOB and pmmp met me at The Big Mango, The Ghost was soaked to the bone.

After checking into the Nap Inn next door – a great value at 800 baht – and changing clothes, I wandered back into the bar to meet the faces behind the blog. ssB, pmmp and Daywalker were all in attendance. The Mango looks great and the burgers (and Mango McMUFFin) became the staple of my week’s diet. The plan was to head out and start seeing what the night had to offer, but the beers were flowing and when we finally rumbled out onto Soi 4, it was nearly 11:30 p.m.

Nana Plaza Lightning Round

The Mango boys started The Ghost’s Bangkok education with a whirlwind tour of Nana Plaza. One beer and out and few, if any lady drinks, was the order for balance of the evening, but even in this small, late-night dose, I could see that Nana reality doesn’t hold a candle to the hype of years past. Some impressions. Of course, judging the Plaza very late on a rainy weeknight isn’t the best yardstick, but some impressions nonetheless.

  • Rainbow 1-4: After hearing about the wonderland that is Rainbow 4 for years, it was at the top of my list. Warned, however, that R4 had been slipping recently, I wasn’t too disappointed by the night’s late-night lineup. Smaller and dingier than I expected, there were still enough lovelies on stage that I deemed it worthy of longer, more intensive research at a later date. But I’d definitely get there earlier. Of the four, Rainbow 3 actually had the best lineup. I quickly learned ssB is a somewhat of a legend in the Plaza, so there were always someone pretty young thing to welcome us to the bar. Four beers and we’d gone over the Rainbow.
  • Mandarin: Very familiar with the four (lame) Pattaya bars owned by the French owners of Nana’s Mandarin, we had to pop in. The bosses weren’t there, but the place had the familiar feel of the Pattaya bars, with the same bright red seating and lighting. The talent on offer was certainly better than the Tiger & Shark complex bars on Walking Street, though.
  • Mercury: Again, since we were only in for a beer each with little interaction with the girls, nothing really jumped out in most places either good or bad. Mercury, for its size, through, seems like a decent place worth checking again.
  • Carousel: Actually, I hit Carousel with Werewolf and Bangkok Bad Boy on Friday night. After hearing people dump on the place in the past, I thought the show was actually pretty good, with topless and nude Angelwitch-inspired shows on the second stage. And the drinks here are the largest I’ve ever seen in a go-go bar.

The Horror of Angelwitch

With pmmp returning to close The Mango, ssB and I made the most-memorable stop of the night to Angelwitch. Now The Ghost is a huge fan of Pattaya’s Angelwtich. No place in town offers better sound, lighting or overall venue than the Soi 15 showcase. So nothing could have prepared me for the dump that is Angelwitch Nana Plaza.

Tiny, dingy, badly lit, the bar is hardly the showpiece that manager Dave the Rave’s weekly copy-thon makes it out to be. And the dancers? Oh my God. What’s put on stage in between would never be allowed in the door in Angelwitch Pattaya. Fat, old and lumpy must be a prerequisite for squeezing into the size XL bikinis Angelwitch passes out to new recruits.

It’s no wonder the bar is for sale at an ever-decreasing price. And, apparently, the crowds agree with me, as even The Rave himself admitted business was off 30% year-on-year on in both July and August. Regular visitors who remember SRO crowds every night until closing and considered Angelwitch “the place to be” say it’s more likely business is off by twice that. On this night 60% of the seats were empty.

The bar has clearly tanked since owners Pim and Matt split. Ladyboy Pim, said to be responsible for the glory at both Angelwitch locations, now resides full time in Pattaya. Meanwhile, Dave and Matt have been left to hold things together in Nana.

After Hours

Post-Nana, ssB departed and I ventured out to get my first taste of the After Hours scene. After fending off the ladyboys and beer-hawkers, I wandered into Angels Disco, not because I was expecting it to be good, but because it was there. I grabbed a Tiger, walked the room and settled into a booth only to be tackled by a fat, but extremely drunk and horny girl who did her best to persuade me to take her somewhere. Never one to outright dismiss a nasty slut, I let her work it for a few minutes but the act came to a crashing close just five minutes later when the lights came up at the Nana disco at 2 a.m.

OK, that wasn’t really what I was expecting. A quick SMS question to ssB and I was off to Spicy. Again, armed with experience I wouldn’t have had five years ago, I got the cab for free and, as a bonus, another girl from the parking lot jumped in the cab. She was also a bit on the chubby side, but figured the back seat of a cab going was a good place to get friendly. But when we arrived at Spicy, the cops had closed the place. We quickly redirected to Boss where the cozy cab ride ended. I never made any indication I was actually going to a club WITH her and chubby girl seemed quite put out when she realized I wasn’t paying her 300-baht cover charge.

Boss was crowded and hot and I ended up upstairs near the aircon where an obviously drunk girl was celebrating her birthday a couple days earlier. Despite her conservative dress and aversion to any roaming hands, the girl decided to make her own desires known by plunging her hand down the inside front of my jeans and giving my little brother a firm handshake. The next stop was pretty obvious by that point.

But like the Bangkok Bad Boy earlier in Pattaya, I was vexed by the question of “is she or isn’t she.” Her below-the-knee length dress seemed more appropriate to a Sunday school than after hours club and, despite her man-handling of me, she didn’t allow any reciprocation in public. In the morning, when she gave me her number, it was an actual business card from her office job, not just a name card. And the birthday girl certainly had never become acquainted with a razor. On the other hand, while she didn’t outright ask for cash before dashing off to catch the bus to work, she didn’t refuse the 1,000 I slipped her, either.

Tulips & Tilacs

Wednesday brought the first hangover of the week, my first Mango Muffin – definitely up to the hype – and my first visit to Tulip. In a word, it’s the oily massage to beat. I wasn’t overwhelmed as some have been, but my masseuse was spot-on perfect from the get go, although I suspected she’d had more than a few Japanese customers when she started the over-the-top porno-style moaning even before I touched her.

Properly refreshed, I returned to the hotel to prepare for that night’s big outing to The Resort for the exclusive Maxim magazine models party, my first-ever experience with a G-Club. But before we departed, ssB, myself, Daywalker and two others made a quick stop in Cowboy. First stop was Tilac which, after that and a subsequent trip there this week, I have to say is one of the strip’s best bars. If you transplanted Tilac into Pattaya, it would instantly become one of the five best bars there.

The Ghost Falls in Love

Coyotes at The Resort

Coyotes at The Resort

From there, it was on to The Resort. Now I’ve read all the G-Club fodder here on the blog for the past months and, having enjoyed the hostess clubs of Japan during three years living here, I expected to enjoy the similar G-Club format. But nothing I read prepared me for the scale and magnitude of the numbers of drop-dead gorgeous women that were everywhere at Resort. A man of words for 25 years, I kept opening my mouth and nothing would come out. Nothing in my Go-Go Girl handbook applied here. I was as lost, dumbfounded and bewildered as a wide-eyed newbie.

Now Resort is a Thai-area G-Club and good English skills are in shorter supply than clubs in the farang areas. So I asked the hostess arranging the evening to find me a PR girl who spoke good enough English so I could talk easily with her. She took my hand and brought me back to the girls’ pen and asked me to wait. I stood there looking around like a kid in the candy store. Then came back and said they didn’t have many girls, but asked “will this lady be OK?”

I turned around and in a matter of seconds turned into a little Ghost puddle on the floor. OK? Are you kidding? The girl was so hot I’m sure I had to physically push my jaw shut, being sure to tuck my tongue back in first. Of course, I had to play it cool:

“Yeah, she’ll do.”

Maxim model

Maxim model

To cut a very long, alcohol and hormones driven story short: I was in love. The girl spoke flawless English, was university educated, good Bangkok family and, once she put away her camera, was the perfect hostess. Whiskey flowed and, knowing I lived in Pattaya didn’t have the luxury of following BigBabyKenny’s “Slow Way” method of getting to bang this girl, went straight for BBK’s “Fast Way.” In truth, I kind of melded the two methods, in that I didn’t tell her that she had to put out or take a walk, but by the end of the night it was pretty clear to her both through verbal and non-verbal communication that I wanted to see her again. She gave me her phone number and e-mail, told me she’ll be in Pattaya in about a week with friends and we might be able hook up then. In the sober, hungover reality of daylight, she may have cooled a bit, as I’ve gotten just one short text, but I’m holding on to hope I’ve found the next Mrs. Ghost.

Oh, yeah, the Maxim girls. Truth be told, I thought the five girls assembled around our table that night were hotter than eight of the 10 models. The girls stripped down to bikinis, but the show going on at the table was far more interesting to me. But check out my three videos on YouTube here, here and here.

Cowboy Crawl

On Thursday I met up with Werewolf and, for part of the evening, BBK on his last night in Thailand for now. Werewolf did his best to show off the best of Cowboy. Impressions:

  • Baccara – Hit the place around 8. Few panties could be found and around nine the tops and skirts came off upstairs, but oddly for only one team. Lots more to come back to see.
  • Shark – Are you supposed to see through that glass ceiling? Hot girls. So many, I couldn’t even decide who to wave over.
  • Deja Vu – Small lineup but a few hotties including one girl that looked about 16, but insisted she was 25. WW and I convinced her to go upstairs and get her ID card. She came down and the ID card said she was actually 30! And three of us actually believed it was, in fact, her card.
  • Raw Hide – Before the G-Club Wednesday we actually had one drink here and the lineup – at 9 p.m. — was abysmal. Fat, fat, fat and old. It seemed to be everything people have said recently. But tonight the place was smokin’ The A and B team shows were phenomenal and only the C team bore a resembled to the girls in long pants from two nights before.

    5-Star guitarist

    5-Star guitarist

  • 5-Star – The highlight of the evening. A go-go bar with a band? And a great band at that? Sure, most the girls are past their sell-by dates, but there were a good half-dozen that would pass muster on The Ghostmeter.
  • Tilac – A return trip and a double barfine. ‘Nuff said.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to sleaze, drunken debauchery and cheap fun, Pattaya still wins hands down. Nana is so tame I could sleep in some bars. And I had to laugh at the amazement guys showed when a top or two came off. But, odd as it sounds, lesbian lick-fests, bananas up the bum and non-stop nudity can actually get boring. I was happy to trade all that for the huge numbers of truly stunning women I saw all over the Bangkok nightlife scene. Not even getting into all the eye candy on the street and Skytrain, the girls in the bars are fitter, lighter-skinned, less tattooed and far less pierced than their Pattaya sisters.

Attitude is another huge advantage. Frankly, these days, the attitude of most Pattaya girls sucks. They’ve become legends in their own minds. I jumped all over the case of a (too) young Rawhide girl who looked like any number of the stunning Pattaya showgirls and exhibited the same bitchy attitude. But it turns out the girl, who refused to even let me touch her hand, was simply new and scared, not stuck up. Jaded by so many Isaan princesses on the chrome poles in Pattaya, I simply assumed she was the same. The fact was, in four nights on the town I didn’t encounter one stuck-up, bitchy girl.

Closing times, however, are a major pain in the ass. Two nights in a row Spicy was closed when I arrived. Nana closed at 1:30 a.m. one night and 2 a.m. the next. I barfined the duo from Tilac and then was chagrined as the lights came up two minutes later, at 2 a.m. instead of the expected 3 a.m. My nights started late most times and Friday, my last big party night, I ended up standing with BBB at the Nana carpark as he flung aside kateoys with quips that left them scratching their heads. He gave up and went home. I stumbled around for a while, ended up at a so-called “bar” that was no more than some tables on the sidewalk at 4 a.m. before actually having to pay a 300 barfine in a place that didn’t exist three hours later when I boarded the bus back to Pattaya.

But maybe the best thing about my ‘first time” in Bangkok is that I have five years of Thailand bar-scam experience under my belt. I was a newbie with experience and that translated to a hell of a lot of fun. Sorry Mango boys, you haven’t seen the last of me.

(Note: The promised second part of the Pattaya Mid-Low Season Report will appear next week.)

This is probably not the best time to visit BKK, so if you liked it now, you should like it even more in high season.
Regarding girls with an attitude, I guess it is when you live somewhere that you get time to realize. There are a lot in BKK too, believe me, and when I go to Pattaya I feel the reverse and find it “refreshing” ;)

pg - great to meet u in person and cool write up indeed.

I think this whole ptty-vs-bkk is a grass is always greener feeling. For me ptty is that escape cause I am not from there. I think the same must for for u with bkk.

I have always felt ptty is better for the clubbing, the gogos, the lateness and the pricing for the most part.

But I always miss the uni girls, the g clubs and the normal bkk birds running around who always need some loving as well. We can’t have it all hence we make do with a bus ride. Same must go for u is my guess.

Ghost: the two nights out with you were a good time… I’ll look forward to return visits. Anyone who can write that Five Star was the highlight of an evening that includes Baccara, Shark and Tilac is alright in my book. I love the place because of the atmosphere but most others usually bag it because of the weak lineup of girls. As I recall, three or four of us found enough fun loving and attractive girls among the rubble to make it enjoyable.

I’m as much of a Pattaya newbie as you were to Bangkok. Maybe I can get there soon for my own newbie tour.

    Great report!

    Awesome write up as usual.

Can anyone else comment on nap-inn. I’m looking at staying there in October, so if anyone wants to show a newbie the ropes, please be gentle.

@ssB — Acutally, I had linked to it in the story :)

#Imprint — It’s your basic kind of guest house. Small room dominated by big soft bed. Good aircon, but because of room size, it blows right on the bed alnight, which always results in me getting sick. Small TV with no satellite. Shower was warm, but so-so jet/water pressure. But for 800 baht in a great location, it’s a good place to stay.

I stayed one night there and moved over to Soi 2 to the Majestic Grand. Lovely place with a fab buffet breakfast (which I arose early enough only 1 time to use!). King-size bed, touch-panel everything, huge TV, shower AND big bath. Normal price is 5,000 a night, but I got 3,800.

Also recommended was Dynasty on Soi 6, which is siad to be in the 2,000-range. I’ll try this next time because if you book in Pattaya for the Dynasty BKK they offer a free shuttle service.

    @WW — Yeah, I had a blast.

#Suk — Actually, putting together pieces for my blog today, I rmemebered I ran into one showgbirl snob in Carousel. What a witch. I know it can happen. Guess I was just lucky. Also saw the effect of low season as I barfined a pair of girls in Tilac and both went for 1,000 each after initially asking much more.

I was in Pattaya beginning of the year and find Bangkok much better all round dont see so many fuck wit tourists either .. Went to Long Gun last night lucky i had grabbed a young filly before hand, she and i were gob smacked with the state of the girls…20 odd fat ,ugly ,pigs i mean they need to earn a living but not doing that ..is the person running the show blind ?? Could pass them off to be half english for fucks sake.awful…
Agree Rainbow 4 is good ,if not better last few nights than rainbow 1 .
Ghost you got those girls for 1000 each, bugger i must have “i have cash” writen all over me i cant get the girls down passed 3000 for long time i would say in my defence they are always the lookers so i dont really care for the extra cash for a hotty but would be nice every now and then. But then you do have as you say years of neg experience.!
Also I just need to say that i think one of the best sights to behold in the world is seeing a High heeled, mini skirted, Long Jet black hair ,Asian beauty pearched on a scooter weeving though traffic ,love it…

My Pattaya friends that have been there in the past year say there is one street with a handful of beer bars. No go-gos, of course, but there is a Lolita’s.

It’s been a year since I was there… I’ve been trying for the past couple of hours to remember the name, but I’m struggling.

On the main road between Hua Hin and Cha’am (or HH and Bangkok) very near Soi 19 (if memory serves) is a hotel called something like Nam Sai Suay Hin (or Nam Sai Hin Suay?). They have a disco full of university hotties and freelancers that opens around 9 or 10 and runs till about 2 a.m.

I went there twice and had a great time both times.

There are a few beer bars in the downtown of HuaHin. Easy to find. But not easy to find a pretty girl.

If you find Diamond hotel, you’ll find on the left before the entrance the only massage parlour i found in Huahin, with only one attractive girl (with huge breast).

Was in HH over a year ago and have to agree w Suk Psycho. Over 20 beer bars but no head turners. There was a Lolita’s BJ bar there as well but it was too scary to enter given what was sitting outside. There were some discos, mostly Thai, from what some Thai people I went with said but didn’t get to see them as we opted for the beer bars. There was also one After Hours club in the Hilton that was somewhat happening.

You can check out here for ssB’s trip report from when we took the Mango Bar staff down for our staff party.

In the nearby town of Cha’am you’ll find one small go go bar and a collection of pool bars on soi Oscar.

In addition there is a collection of small beer & pool bars on Soi Bus Station on the south end of the beach. There was one in particular that I enjoyed called Hot Sauce. There was a girl there named Cat who looked hot, but when I barfined her and took her home I found that having a baby had loosened up everything. Still, she was a talented girl. She looked great IN her clothes but not so great OUT of them. Tall & tattooed but a slender beauty who was strong in the bed was Ann. Another girl, Deuen, wasn’t as head-turning… a bit of a sturdy farm girl look about her, but she was very good company, agreeable and fun in the bedroom. A couple other girls looked good but I wasn’t there long enough to barfine everyone.

Fourteen months later I’d be surprised if you’d find the same crew of girls, but it was a good bar owned and managed by an Aussie. I imagine he’ll have the best available in town working for him.

On the north end of the beach (around soi 9) there’s an outdoor restaurant called Ozone… no action but decent live music, good Thai food and a happy hour.

THe hottest girl in town that I found was named Wee and worked on Soi Oscar, but when I went looking for her a week later she had moved on and I couldn’t find her again.

Cha’am is about 25 minutes in a car from Hua Hin, heading back towards Bangkok. Don’t know if you’ll think it’s worth the trouble to go there or not.

Interesingly enough I visited Pattaya last week to check out the go-gos from PG’s reports. It was fun and a nice diversion. If I can figure out how to post a report of my experience I’ll do so.

I returned to Bkk and stayed at Dynasty Inn on Thursday and Nap Inn on Friday. Dynasty’s ‘remodeled’ rooms in the main building may be OK, but I used to like the rooms in the back annex. Now, however, they are a very poor value. They haven’t done anything to them in years the same small, smelly rooms and they have the gaul to charge @1500 baht for them. No thanks.

Walked down to Nap Inn got the only room left on Friday, 800 baht, third floor. Not a bad place, and for the money a good value. However, the TV sucked, only 1 poor station, you can’t make outside calls from the room, it is small and in this type of place you hear all the noise from inside the building, so I heard everyone climbing the stairs to floors 2-4. I was on floor 3, and the yellow drapes on the windows let the light in very well, so after getting to sleep at 5 am, I’m awakened an hour or so later by the sun, then about every hour after by people coming and going, and then the staff on the ground floor and the maids and their need to engage in incessant chatter all morning meant about 3 hours total sleep before I checked out at noon. I was really drunk when I came back, picked up a gal on the way and did the dirty with her from 3-5am, so I was tired and wanted to get some good sleep, but that didn’t happen.

To me the Nana Hotel is a better value than anything else on upper Soi 4 (from the road that links Soi 6 up to Sukhumvit). If I were a heavy sleeper Nap Inn may be OK, it is in the back of the Soi and you don’t get stuck listening to the annoying bass coming from Nana Plaza and Hillary Bar like you do at the back annex at Dynasty Inn.

I’ve also stayed at Dynasty Grande and hate it too. Those crappy yellow curtains take away any chance I’ll get to sleep in and the thin walls and 32″ TV’s mean that I’m also going to get a neighbor who has to keep the TV on most of the night.

Sorry to double-post, but just as I was pressing the SUBMIT button on the last comment I got a call from a Nana Plaza gogo girl suffering the effects of low season and looking for some extra cash. She wanted to know if she could come see me when she finished dancing.

I looked at the clock, and it was 1:45 a.m.

I said that I thought Nana closed at 1:00 these days. She said that last week they closed around 1.00 or 1.15 every day, but that now the closing times had moved back to 2:00 a.m.

She was grumbling that she didn’t like having to work later because there were no customers anyway and she was tired.

Seems like the bars may be staying open a bit later now, but punters are accustomed to the earlier close and not around.

It’s only one go go dancer, but this is how I usually know the closing times, so I’d guess it’s accurate.

Anyway, I told her to come on over when she finishes… she said she’s tight on cash because not many customers lately. Yesterday she called me around 11 pm but said she ‘just wanted to say hello’. Clearly low season is taking a bite out of her income.

Yes, the age old debate, BKK vs. PTY. Always a fun topic. IMHO, they are complimentary and you need both to get the total package (the total package does not equal BKK + PTY, but a big part of it).

It depends on personal tastes and sometimes over the years one can go back and forth on which one is better depending on what is happening in each city at the time, but in the end, you can’t just pick one, like with the girls, right?

The closing times at Nana do happen to have started creeping back. On Friday night most bars will still going strong at 0200 when I left, including rainbows 1-4, but some of the smaller bars and Angelwitch had closed. It was funny to watch the girls with attitude at Rainbow 4 complain that they have to work as long as the Soi Cowboy girls - :-O!

I’ve been getting at least 1 call per night for the last couple of weeks from girls who ‘are sad they don’t have a boyfriend for tonight’ and can ‘they come stay with me tonight?’ or calling and demanding that I come see them in their respective bars right now. Definitely low season hitting hard.

@PG: we completely missed each other! I finally bit the bullet and took my first trip to Pattaya after 3 years of living in Thailand, was from Monday to Thursday last week, the time you were losing your Bangkok virginity - next time I’m down Pattaya way, you’ll have to show me around as I didn’t get to as many bars and clubs as I would have liked.

Sounds like you had a great time. These bars change every time we get there, but slow season is a great time to visit.

Nana Hotel is a good place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the action. Front and back entrance (of the hotel) useful for shuffling girls in past others that may have been taken from NEP or SC and doing the Nana Car Park Capers. 1290 (standard room)Bht - 1690 Bht (for superior room with safe). Really good cleaning staff (needed for some occasions) and good security. Great breakfast included but we only ever get it when we are staggering back from Soi Cowboy after the Sukumvit table bar walk.
    Best to book on line.

Nice write-up PG, have to say I’m pretty astonished by the Angelwitch comments. Four months ago, when I was last in town, the birds were all lithe, pretty and young. Certainly for viewing purposes, I thought it could compete with any bar in Thailand, despite the shows getting repetitive etc etc, maybe it’s a low season issue?

@ Jimmy - After 2 years the Dynasty Grand got it right they now use a silver sheet behind those yellow curtains to make the room almost pitch black.. it’s a good place for price.

PG - Glad u had a good time, i am more of a BKK guy but the last two times that i have gone to pattaya have been filled with fun, i meet some cool party girls out there and they have taken me to some clubs outside of the usual walking street.. I wish i knew the names of the clubs.

I have this feeling that there is much more outside of the regular soi diamond, diana, walking street in pattaya it will take someone to wander and check the unknown to really know.

    Re: Angelwitch:

I fully agree with the Ghost’s review - I’ve been a couple of times in the last 2 months and it’s been terrible every time, when I was there the first time a year ago I’d conservatively estimate the number of cute girls at 60/70%, now I’d say 10/10% As soon as you sit down, you’ll have every mamasan, most service girls and 2 or 3 dancers begging you for drinks, and I mean begging. They’ll take a tequila shot and then start begging again straight away. Angelwitch in Pattaya reminds me of Angelwitch on my first trip, fewer cuties though - but the fact that the dancers slide down the pole to dance and they have the show of the girl going up, down and around the poles around the stage was pretty impressive! It blew me away.

3Amigos - The rate for the least expensive room (Standard Room) at the Nana Hotel went up to 1490 baht several months ago. No longer the great value it used to be, but they still seem to draw high occupancy rates.
