[Continued from Part Two]
Disappointing riverside view, Phnom Penh
And so, time to bring this circuitous tale to a close.
After a night of glorious, uninterrupted sleep (the Vietnamese chick was short-time only, folks), it was time to actually do a little exploring. But not just yet. First, there was an itch which simply had to be scratched.
The Hope and Anchor pub have a sign on the premises which declares that they serve the finest English Breakfast in Phnom Penh. Such claims must be verified. Preferably by me.
It was rather good.

As mentioned here there are some events to keep note of - more details soon. So it looks like the PAD is starting to fade a bit. What I mean by this is the country is starting to get fed up. The PAD only cares about themselves and has a very deluded notion of what is ailing Thailand and what needs to be done to fix it. Their continued claim of non-violence while marching with armed male Thais is pretty laughable. Point is - they claimed they could make a 100,000+ person stand yesterday and they failed miserably:
Protest leaders were calling for Sunday’s rally to be their biggest ever, but the number that turned out appeared to be at most just one-quarter to one-third the 100,000 supporters protest spokesman Parnthep Wongpuapan said had been expected.
This is good news because it shows that the normal folk who are getting battered by the WWFF are starting to realize there are more important matters at hand. Like keeping Thailand from falling into the brink.

It is not intentional folks but just tons going on. The last week has in fact been busy at the mango. Not sure so much if it is a rise in tourism or just all the right people are in town - plus some of our regulars are doing a herculean effort to keep the boat afloat. To the Swedes. U guys are going to kill me. Love u all. To the dude who left the Wallpaper mag and the Wired Mag. Thanks. I took them home. Feel free to bring more. To all the new faces and folks returning for holidays - good to see u and as always we thank you for your support.
Stay tuned we will have a more formal announcement for our Turkey Day specials which will be on Turkey Day. There will also be a ThailandFriends party on the 29th. Come help us end the month with a bang - I need some barfine money.

Sorry folks. A ton of stuff in this post but take what you want of it. Phuket post soon. Weekly tonight. For those of you looking to get into the bar biz - read this post. Ouch.
Dave bought a bar from Nok’s auntie. Nok’s auntie somehow contrived to get him to agree to buy the business without using lawyers. Buddhist temple-sized warning bells should have sounded straight away, but Nok convinced him that this was the way things are done in Thailand.
I left the text in red. Seems more potent that way. This dude should have ran to the airport. That’s all I am saying. Hit Gulliver’s KS last night and will contrast it to what is said about Gulliver’s Soi 5. No Nigerian issues there but shit, the UK and Aussie punks are to be watched.

Some people might think this means to quit.
Others may take it to mean stop the fight.
I will turn to wikipedia’s defintion:
On Wikipedia, sometimes it is hard to work collaboratively and to build consensus. On occasion there will be times when an issue seems of vital importance, but the consensus is building slowly or is going against you. Sometimes there may be only two of you involved in a dispute. In situations like this, it may only need one person to throw in the towel for the issue to move on. Throwing in the towel doesn’t necessarily have to mean you are defeated, only that your argument hasn’t carried the day as yet. Instead it may mean you recognise that consensus has not formed around your position, or that the issue is of lesser importance to you.
Let me extract my exact position:

Cindy Club was great. A definite reminder of my Thailand experiences. This time in the other city of Angels.
For those of you who have been watching this post, you might have seen what Pmmp called my “on the spot reporting”, with help from my iPhone. Unfortunately the iPhone’s most serious drawback is its battery life. I had to quit posting in fear my battery would go so dead that I wouldn’t even be able to get the number of at least one of these beauties into my phone book. I believe I stopped reporting at about the time the eleventh “hostess” showed up for work.
So, I thought I might just start from the beginning of my night and fill everyone in.

(This is related to User’s Guide to Gulliver’s Sukhumvit Soi 5 Part 1)
New to Thailand, somehow I fortuitously wandered into Gulliver’s Soi 5.
After wandering into Gulliver’s somehow I ended up adopted by some of the long time successful Gulliver’s longballers. (see User’s Guide to Gulliver’s Sukhumvit Soi 5 Part 1 for an explanation of the difference between long and short ballers)
At the time, I was so fresh it still amazed me that I could bang any Biergarten girl that took my fancy, was still burning clock cycles guessing if particular Nana Disco girls would go home for money, and was still paying off the small time scams that are the staples of the financially successful TG Short Ball specialist.
Gulliver’s at the time was a completely different animal than today and an eye opener for me.
