This is nothing of importance but I am going to write about it anyway - when do blogs die? I tend to cruise through incoming links from time to time to see who is pointing at us. Like today I saw this - someone else who gets the 8-8-8 thing:
http://blogfor.asia/siam-sunshine/post/eight-eight-eight.aspx
Anyway - always checking for inbound links but I get so tired of seeing old sites with outdated - even incorrect information and no one maintaining them. At least they could do is say they no longer maintain it or take it down.
Here are a few from my list of sites that need to go or at least get updated:
The last blog post was in Oct of last year. Nice.
The front page is still talking about how DTR scooped the Big Mango closing - funny thing is he got it wrong and we pre-announced our own closing. He talks about BBB’s old site and worst of all he has a poll up for what blog to review next. My suggestion - how about reveiwing your own site?
Last post was July of last year. Come on boys - put a post up saying u are done with blogging. Do us at least that much.

This one is a little more confusing. It seems Galt finally got a taste of his own medicine and he has ceased to update the site for a while. Wonder if he will return but in the meantime he still has an exclusive sponsor - his very own company.
I am sure there are other sites - just bang them into the comments so we can get a list going.
We may start a Thailand Blog Deadpool for any site that has not been updated in 6 months. Then we can have a voting system to recognize the most pathetic ones. Seems more interesting than say - a top 100 list.
I liked the Two Fat Farangs site when they were active. Read that and you guys the most. But one of the guys Fell In Lub and not sure what happened to the other.
There’s actually quite a few dead blogs on Matt’s Top 100 Thai Blogs. He says its for “active” blogs, but there’s more than a few in the top 20 that have not seen posts since May or before.

pg - I just think when they stop updating they should say so. When I get around to it may have to build the Top 100 Thai Blogs Deadpool. Might be fun! I think 6 months would be the cutoff period for freshness.

Thanks for the link guys, sometimes people get bored with the same old thing (BangkokBadBoy for instance gave up blogging ‘cos he got tired with writing and not doing) I say everything in moderation, I enjoy writing about what I enjoy (sometimes I enjoy stuff that I don’t write about too, being married can be a bind sometimes if you can read ‘tween the lines).
Bottom line, if you ain’t happy with something in your life, change it. I know that I did and I ain’t never looking back.
Here’s to a big Mango now and then ;o) and lots of Eight’s (or even ten’s if you can find ‘em)

mangosauce was my favourite site until David gave up in frustration over funding.
Notstickman (John Galt) died a much deserved death for his infantile hypocritical vendetta against the original Stickman. Shame on you Keith.
Bangkok Bad Boy hasn’t posted in months but is a guest columnist now.
Of course The Farang at Big Mango is my favourite blogger(s) now.

kms - bbb has a few current posts and yes - he is here with us. For sure more to come from bbb and of course the new version of the weekly
this is not a money affair so if that is the yardstick one might as well not even try. maybe overtime it will get better but so many blogs and few real advertisers.
the deadpool list has to be bigger than this folks?

I also remember Bangkok Girlfriend.
Did a bit on inactive blogsights last December at
http://nanajournals.blogspot.com/2007/12/inactive-bangkok-nightlife-websites.html
Some blogs are nice that they are still up, but inactive, as a historical record of that time and place.
There were some rumors that Dave of MangoSauce was going to take over Bangkok Girlfriend.

Never saw 2fatfarang before being mentioned here and I started reading it. Has anyone else read it? Man, it reads like a car accident of things that can happen to farangs should not do in Thailand!
do not fall in love your bar girls
do not wonder off and have imaginary baby with girlfriend still banging old boyfriend
etc
Sorry to see they stopped - man that was entertaining. Like driving by a 6 car pile up on 101 south…

f - too right. like a pile up u cannot look away from but I don’t think that is how they intended it. Still - looks like a deadpool candidate.

I am one of the people that read every word that 2FF wrote. They did at least explain in their final posts how they had imploded, which is sort of like signing off. I reckon it’s great that they left it up… it’s like cliff notes for Private Dancer; what NOT to do when you come to Thailand.
I found some lame Bangkok website that someone recommended to me. Nothing there actually… just some old computer code or something that says 04.08.08.
Shit like that should be banned. Anyway, here’s the URL if you want to see it for yourself:

Fixed. Although you might want to refresh that page, sounds like your browser is caching an old version or something. My old site just sends you to this one now.
