It’s Good To Be Back

Attentive readers will have spotted that my short but (hopefully) sweet return to the ‘Kokosphere, of which I’m afraid this is the final post, began and now ends with posts headlined by lines from a Gary Glitter song.

Purely so that I could make the cheap gag that being sandwiched by Gary Glitter in South East Asia doesn’t always necessitate a trip to the police station.

Because cheap gags are what it’s all about. Well, that and liberal appliance of The Staff of Justice to the bargirls of Bangkok. Oh, and the beer. And the som tam. And it’s been great fun bringing that spirit back to the ‘Kokosphere for these past six weeks.

With Werewolf currently heading back to Bangkok, my time here is at a close. But there’s just one more thing…

By Popular Demand

In the six months or so since I took the decision to retire my old site, there are two things people have asked me more often than anything else.

Request number one has been to make a return to blogging. It’s flattering that I’ve been asked this so many times, but in all honesty I don’t think I could cope with putting even 2-3 pieces a week up for much longer. My six weeks here was just about the right length of time - any more would have meant either long barren patches, or a drop in quality. Some might say that both have happened anyway!

But occasionally I might feel inspired. It would be nice to have somewhere to post if I do.

The second most popular request has been to make the back archive available for reading. I took it offline with the old site, but of course I still have a copy of everything I’ve written. Some of it’s out of date, and some of it’s no longer relevant. But there’s a lot of tales there that people seem keen to read again. Not to mention some of the epic comment threads.

And so for the next few weeks, I’m going to be working on bringing back the old content, together with everything I’ve written here for the past six weeks.

My readers, and their appreciation for what started off as almost a joke website, which I fully expected would never amount to anything, has made me a number of new friends and led to a number of opportunities that I’d probably never have otherwise had.

I think I owe it to those readers to give a little back. So the Bangkok Bad Boy Archives will be returning. With occasional (and I mean occasional!) updates. Soon.

And Finally

It’s been a fun few weeks. I hope I’ve provided a little amusement, and perhaps even a little food for thought. Hopefully I didn’t spoil anyone’s lunch with the last little litany of lewdness.

But for now, it’s back to Werewolf. I’d like to end on a note of thanks to him for giving me this opportunity to get “back in the saddle”, and am looking forward to the return of his prolific posting.

From me, and The Staff Of Justice - adieu, but not goodbye :-)

You will be missed - you should guest write your hilariously shitty stories here or on 2thebigmango.com websites.

I have no doubt that all readers of this blog are wishing you will be inspired to write again soon and often.
As WW indicated, he is more than happy for you to post on his site at any time.

Rest now, old friend. You have been magnificent.

(slow, mournful sound of a bugle) At the going down of the sun…and in the morning…we shall remember him.

Yeah, but how do I read the date?… As if I am an American or as everyone else in the world would? :)
Great writeups the last few weeks. A couple actually had me speechless, so I wasn’t capable of leaving a comment, but I read em’…

@JB: It’s year/month/day of course. The only sensible way to write dates.

Your triumphant return is reminiscent of MacArthur in the Philippines. Of course, I refer to Douglas - not Nigel who is incarcerated there for paedophilia. My understanding is that he will be released August 8 this year, in time to make the opening ceremonies in Beijing. Yet another reason to mark the date in my calendar.

Getting the archives on line is a good news story and I look forward to reading it all again.

Thanks for the past six weeks.
