I just finished reading Reefer Men. Great read - I have no way of knowing how factual it all is but it seems to be pretty accurate from the stories I have heard. The book is a great read since it gets into a lot of the history of the weed trade, the travails of the DEA and crosses into many countries covering a huge cast of interesting people. Thailand is only one part of the story. I am sure people that were in Thailand during the 70s and 80s would have more to say on the matter but for me it was a thrilling read. I love the revealing details about how America’s war on drugs in many cases actually forced the price of drugs up which in turn made the trade even more lucrative and afforded the drug runners even more profit which they could turn around and use to create even more sophisticated techniques. Nice.
Anyway - the book seems to be in Thailand now and easy to pick up. Here is the link to it on Amazon.

I may be late to this one but I have not heard anyone chatting about it but this pregnant man thing is just so bizarre. I came across this article by accident. Some dude, who used to be a girl, is pregnant. So Thomas Beatie kept his insides female even though he is now a man. I am not sure what his genital area even looks like but this is just so weird. As I was digging some more I came across this site:
This one is actually a real guy who is carrying a baby. I am just not sure I am ready to digest all of this. Am I being to normal here or does anyone else think this is all a bit much? And some people think Thailand is off the charts with its ladyboy but that looks pretty innocent compared to all of this.

I first heard about this pregnant “guy” around a month back while I was in the UK. He/she’s become quite the celebrity - no doubt helping to offset some of the future costs of raising the child. I agree though….definitely a bit much. Gotta feel sorry for the kid - not much hope of a balanced upbringing. Dare I use the word “normal”….

A few weeks ago He/she was on Oprah,(a very popular afternoon talk show out of Chicago) saddest part is this dude was a 10++ knockout babe before having his breasts removed and hormones.

In a case of disputed motherhood, it turns out that the mother in question carries two sets of non-identical DNA. DNA now used to determine personhood and identity and this individual is two people/persons. Legal ramifications wonderful. Very, very strange – she had ‘incorporated’ her non-identical twin in-utero and it was this DNA that was expressed in her offspring. Macabre and funny story.

There is a good documentary film recently made called American Drug War - The Last White Hope online at various torrent sites.
Last time I looked google video had bits of it.
