Went on a Cowboy run last night followed by Spicy…the usual. Cowboy was going strong. You couldn’t get a seat at most of the big gogo’s like Shark, Baccara, and the now always packed Tilac.
Surprise of the night was Long Gun but not surprising I guess given the degradation in service over the past few years. It’s finally caught up. A few years ago this was the number one gogo on Cowboy, easily. Always packed with great shows and hot lineups. Well, they are now left in the dust by the gogo’s that invested in their places and deliver great service night after night.
It felt great though to easily get seats for six people on a Friday night. Unheard of in the past. However, it was still one drink and out. The shows are tired. The girls outfits are cool but the lame junk rock they play just makes you want to leave. The girls in the shows couldn’t look more disgusted at having to contort their mostly naked bodies for a bunch of drunk punters. That’s what it felt like anyway. Too bad really because the Long Gun of old was something special.
Maybe they could fix the place up a bit? The first row booths couldn’t be more uncomfortable and sitting at the stage during shows means you have to hold your drink the whole time. It looks like they don’t care anymore too which is tougher to fix but maybe a fresh coat of paint will help with everything.
Cactus, always fun to see the flesh. Best set of the night on one of the little lovelies there. Black and White was interesting. It was dead but the transformation has begun here. I believe the Spice Girls/Dejavu/Spankys/etc. owner has bought this bar recently so you can see it moving towards more neon and fluorescent’s. They had some real cuties in there so business should be picking up soon. Outside Fanny’s was rammed last night, not sure why. Dollhouse was going pretty good but looked like most of the top talent got picked out early.
On to Spicy. It was only 1:30am which in the past was way too early to hit Spicy but it turned out to be the perfect time to go, on a Friday night that is. A new development since my last visit a month or two ago is the lurking of freelancers by the door looking for a free pass in with you. So, here’s a disco where you can pick up a girl at the door to take in with you. It’s like a disco fish bowl with over a dozen lurkers. Cool.
Inside was perfect. About 3/4 full with about 70% working girls. The annoying Khao San Road/RCA farang crowd hadn’t rolled in yet. It was refreshing to not see bouncing rolls of Farangkwai fat or narcissistic young “I don’t pay for it” punks dancing the podiums. It was like the old days where you walk in and feel like Kelly Clarkson in a women’s prison. Around 3:00am it quickly deteriorated and the place was moving to capacity so it was time to leave. A little gem of a timeframe though on Friday and probably Saturday nights too.

Last time i went to Spicy the podiums were crammed with euro-trash fudgepackers grinding and kissing each other. Im suprised I didnt I didnt see a pink tourbus outside. Shocking it was.
For any1 that gives 2 squirts of piss i went to Gazebo last night in Khaosan and it was packed with a good crowd and great music. Hooked up with a hot aussie chick aswell. Back of the net!

yp - this could not be more different to the Gazebo on Suk soi 1 which is just horrid.

Someone needs to open up an after-hours Fudge Packers Anonymous Bar. That should deter those Euro butt-pirates.

I hate Khaosan with a passion, but a good friend of mine called me and said he was in Gazebo off of his tits and suggested we meet up.
I wasnt expecting muchn from the place but i was suprised. My judgement is clouded by the half bottle of Sangsom I demolished nefore I left the house - classy

Little bit off-topic but I just had to post this.
In weekends there is always a big crowd in sukhumvit soi 11 near that “bed supper club”, where western guys go with their western or westernized-asian women to party. I personally do not like that area because I always see these folks quarrelling and shouting the f-word to each other. Lacking a certain level of civilization, I guess.
I suppose this is what you mean by these “eurotrash” folks?

Not really Ato. The eurotrash I think were talking about are normally unclean and smelly looking not like the Soi 11 smart looking trash

Young Royal - I see…But how would you call these “Soi 11 smart looking trash” in your language?

I’m my language hmmm probably called them “Townies” but everyone here comes from different parts of the globe and has different names for them. Eurotrash is quite a common term though.

Are these Smart Eurotrash townie cunts the ones who roll into Bangkok and think they can f**k and f**k around with anyone and anything in sight? I always respect the country I am visiting. I think I do anyway?

Gosh…..reading these comments about ‘eurotrash’ etc., I am seriously wondering how y’all look like……assuming that most of you are English yourself….(ok, and Americans………as if that helps)

Dreadlocks are gayer then headbands. Even gayer then santa masks and underpants
I nearly got in a fight with some eurotrash on KhaoSan last night. Its lucky it didnt come to blows as he was a lot bigger then me and i didnt have appropriate footwear on so i could run away. A shedload of hot white bitches on the prowl though

You’re treading a fine line smitty. There’s an awful lot of the Ko Phangngan soapdodger contingent sporting not-so-natty dreads.

dreads are an acquired taste indeed and there are many ways to make them - not washing my head was never an option.
so far the ladies have liked them just fine. pretty much all I care about - sorry guys.

I went to Gazebo a couple of weeks ago because I dragged by 4 girls and a German guy off his tits. It was actually really good, except that the lights came on at 3am and we were shunted out or to the Shisha area. I met an English Muay Thai boxer and when we left though there was an Indian guy pushing a girl around, we both walked over to stop him, he turned around told us that it was ‘his country, he knew what he was doing and we should fuck off’. I told him that last time I checked Thailand wasn’t India and having lived here for the past 3 years, knowing the language and culture it’s probably as much of my country as his. He waited till we left, smacked her again and started yelling stuff at us. Needless to say he was on the ground in seconds. Bit of a spoiler to the night. On the night I was there the farang talent was very low, but there were a few Thai stunners.

When they were retrofitting to make Gazebo a few months ago, the sign outside indicated their target customers would be Middle Easterners. Wise move for any entertainment venue in the Soi 1 / 3 area.
I’ve not been there yet, but do wonder if seem on a track to succeed.
I went by the Bamboo Bar on Soi 3 last night about 11 pm, and actually stepped in as the fat bald Corsican was not outside collecting 100 baht cover fees in his grubby hands. I was surprised to see not many customers inside, though the normal quota of chunky Thai ladies were in attendance.
NEP and Cowboy both seemed to have good crowds. Absolute was hopping around 1130 last night, SRO.
My night ended up with a narrow escape.

I was advised by a reputable taxi driver with extensive knowledge of Bangkok that ALL after hours clubs were closed at 2:00 AM on May 23nd (Friday morning) except for Lucky’s. I specifically asked whether Spicy, Spice, Tunnel, and Boss were closed. Lucky’s was closed at 4AM (including the pool hall next door)… customers were asked to leave at 3:45 AM. I was at Lucky’s… Can anyone else confirm the other places?… this is starting to piss me off.
