the funny thing is the thai is a bit more detailed and says that “smoking pot in public places is not allowed in cambodia”. so i guess a private room is fine.

yes - i was translating it as like in the park or public spaces:

so in theory I could have smoked some in the bathroom and it looks like I would have been legal.
