Yo folks. Songkran is fast approaching - personally I hate it but obviously some people love it and come here to holiday especially for it. A special bunch they are. When I used to come here for holidays I would usually hit the daytime Khao San road action since it was madness and you always got to see some titties. Both farang and Thai since despite Girly Berry pushing for all the Thai girls to cover up - inevitably some Thai and farang girls will be in white t-shirts. God love em for it.
After Khao San I would then head straight to Soi Cowboy and party there until the sun went down. Obviously the Thai bargirls love Girly Berry but I doubt they will take any of their fashion advice since for sure they will be wearing minimal clothing and be soaking wet. Soaking wet bargirls in minimal clothing is never a bad thing. Enjoy.
Tiesto is coming to town. If you like DJs - Tiesto is one of the best. On the 17th he is playing at The River and on the 18th he is playing at Club 808. Saw Tiesto in HK once it was pretty damn good.
FYI - The Club on Khao San is having Song Kran madness on 13-14-15. From 12-8pm everyday they will be playing music on the street and from 8-2am they will be partying inside. Stopped by The Club the other night and for sure it is the coolest looking place on Khao San. Word is they are getting rammed on Fri-Sat but I need to check it out.
Escalator tidbit for the day:
In use, a major planning advantage presented by spiral escalators is that they take up much less horizontal floor space than traditional units, which frequently house large machine rooms underneath the truss.
Has anyone else noticed that Thai girls don’t get the no black bra under white tops thing?

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an escalator temporarily out of order sign, only an escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience.

I saw Tiësto many times here in the Netherlands, it is indeed a pretty amazing show if you’re into that music! I’d recommend going!
Enjoy!

Mitch: You are indeed mistaken. I have been witness to the Nana escalator being blocked off and not even used for stairs. Closings were due to whole stairs being taken away for repair, glass damage last Songkran, tiling the entrance to the escalator…I could go on.

@Young Royal: They also don’t know about not wearing white after labor day, not constantly lying, and so on…things that we take for granted here in the real world. For the last time, Thailand is a third-world country!
Who are these black-bra girls going to take their sensibilities and fashion do’s and don’ts from? Their mothers on the rice farm? Their moms probably wore bamboo bras or something back in the day…if anything

jerb - not sure what u mean but it all depends on where u are routed through sometimes but for sure it is not always accurate but fun to see what people are looking at, how they got there and so on.
j et all - yeah. I hate the fashion sense here. That is what I love on Khao san road seeing those white chicks wearing the tank tops and shorts with their beer gut hanging over. Oh yummy. Will take the wrong colored bras over that shite any day.

I have asked, in a nice way, several BGs why they wear a black bra with a white top. They all gave the same answer: “Sexy, mai?” I then tried, in vain, to explain its tackiness.
Ugh! The hardships we endure!

- I think you’ll find they can also become urinals. Judging by the smell.

I wasn’t really complaining, I quite like the slutty look sometimes.

I’m surprised the Mango boys are endorsing places on KhaoSan. I’ve never found anything that great about Khao San. Rip off travel agencies, flea pit hotels, and wall to wall granola crunchers on dad’s bankroll.

ks - You can’t throw out a whole area in thailand. Khao san has some fun spots and I find myself going there a few times month. If nothing less to people watch.
So are you saying don’t go to safari cause it is in patpong?
don’t go to r4 cause it is in nana?
There are some germs in each area. The club is pretty with a nice layout, decent prices, great techno and mixed crowd.
so each to his own really.
the whole purpose of durianseed.com is allow people to review and rate it all. so people get a communal consensus of things.
