Dry Night - Bangkok Update

As it stands now most of the bars will not be serving due to local elections (Saturday 6:00pm until Sunday around 9:00pm). However, and there is almost always a however in Thailand, some bars who get a good deal from the Police will be serving. Soi Cowboy and Nana are dry. In Silom, the Duke of Wellington will not be serving since we only had the 20,000 baht fine if you’re caught option. We have heard though that a few pubs in Silom might be serving in paper cups or upstairs. Patpong is probably your best bet to find places serving.

9 PM and Suk Soi 33 was quiet.
I could have driven a semi-truck down Soi Cowboy.
The Thermae did not open and many pretty lasses were milling about the sidewalk.

I walked up Soi 7 to see any goings on at 11:30 PM.

An Absolute 7 hostess told me that they will be open and serving beers and Whiskey tomorrow Sunday at 6 PM.

As far as I could tell, all the Soi 7 joints were open except for Tequila. Which was my destination after an earlier visit this week and chatting with the cutier of two coyotes. No, I don’t know if she plays because I’m trying to be a gentlemen.

There were many lasses outside the bars waiting for companionship. Six freelancers were in the middle of the soi as if they were waiting for their Somtum delivery.

While back in my hotel room with a new friend, I receive a call at 1 AM. This FLer mentions something about going to my room and boom boom. After she accepts my puat hua(headache) excuse, I ask her whats going on outside the old Siam Hotel. She informs me there are many ladys on the soi tonight and also many customers.

A few nights ago, I went to the soi outside the now defunct Siam Hotel to check it out. My taxi driver tried to tell me, “no one go there now.” Then informed me about the 2000b farang and the 1500b Thai rates.

I won’t deny to anyone that there were some attractive girls. I saw only thin girls on the street. They would step forward as the car approached to get in the headlights. I stopped at every small group or 2 or 3 and was told 1500 baht ST. I then spotted a tall girl. When I opened the door to chat with her, she was ready to jump in without discussion. Before I got a chance to stand and check her height, she tells me 1300 baht ST. This is not a misprint pahn sam roy baht for ST. She was very passionate. Unlike tonights Thermae irregular.

So after a bit or relaxing and duu TV tonight, I headed out again at 4 AM to see what if any was still happening. I know Thais get paid at the end of the month so I expected to see something open. Some of the malls and traffic was just plain crazy today.

    The Tunnel was vacant.
Spice looked like a ghost town as I drove by.
Lucky just closed because of the police visit. Many people were milling about on the street.
    Spicy mai pert/not open.
The 3rd floor yaabaa disco on Suk soi 11 was shut down but the pool room was open.

plg: thanks for the update. Looks like 6pm is about when things will get going again tonight. An update on Pattaya, most bars were closed last night but some were going with the music down and serving discreetly. This was from a bar girl who works the beer bars near walking street so not sure how comprehensive it is.
