I watch the development of the guide almost daily and having trawled many a BKK P4P website over the last few years I can confidently predict that this guide will become the gold standard.
It is humbling to realise how many places I haven’t been to yet - so much mongering awaits me… do I have the years, the bank balance or the stamina to achieve even a bronze medal? Time will tell.

dr bond - thanks. funny how many things geeks tackle are problems we want solved for ourselves. The guide is an example of that since we wanted to track places, get other people’s opinions and make informed decisions. The build up has been slow but I think over time people will see the value.

When the guide was first announced i have to admit i was a bit underwhelmed as it was billed as ‘p4 or p5′ i think, and i was expecting it to be the opening of the new bar or something ‘HUGE’.
But since checking it out, i think it great. I been limited to the reviews i can give as i havent been around for the last 6months and as we all know the majority of places bars/gogos can change drastically in such a short space of time.
The only thing i think the guide lacks is actual reviews as a lot of the bars remain uncommented upon, although thats expected in its infancy. I can imagine in antoher 6months with some quality reviews this would be a goldmine for newbies and old hands alike
Smitty just a thought perhaps you could upload something/somewhere about tattoos perhaps? Im inked and had a bad experience with a tattoo in Bangkok and think could be a sweet addition.

yp - thanks. yup - the value of the guide is only as good as the reviews but the community will have to fill in that part since I am only one reviewer. I think overtime it will fill in. We have some work to do refining things so people can see top reviewers, top ten lists and so on.

on the Tattoo reference. The guide is just for naughty nightlife stuff since we have to separate that onto its own domain. There is a dearth of advertising for NN stuff versus non NN stuff. So we cannot mix this all together. So long story made short - the Tattoo stuff would not go in the guide.
As always we appreciate the feedback and we will keep plugging away.

Thats a fair point about the tattoo thing, but if thats the case, out of interest how come the airport @ BTS and MRTs are listed?
Also if i found a bar thats not listed and is worth mentioning is there any way to get it added?

yp: we listed BTS and MRT because they are an integral part of reaching your targeted naughty venues.
As for adding/changing items simply fill out the Change Form at http://guide.2thebigmango.com/change-form . The Contact Us tab makes mention of this.
You can also change venue information while viewing the venue. You will see a pencil icon that takes you to the Change Form.

Apart from having all my reviews go straight to spam (maybe it’s the best place for them) the one thing that I think would improve the guide is an indicator to show when new reviews have been posted.
It has great potential but needs more reviews!!

b - keep in mind between the two sites we get 400-500 spams per day. Many of which u never see - so the false positives are just something we all have to live with. They never get lost though and we clear them daily but we need this protection so to speak.
Along the right side of every page it shows u the recently reviewed venues and the recent reviews.
The reviews and traffic are growing so hopefully it will get better.
