Quick Cowboy Update

Pretty interesting times on Cowboy right now. My older brother and I were making the rounds last night and decided to pop into Dejavu. I couldn’t believe my eyes, all the girls were gone except for five or six rather plump one’s. I had visited just a few days earlier and it was rammed with hotties and customers. Both have fled proving once again that having hot gogo girls is very good for business. I have to admit that I was glad to see the Mamasan toil in her misery. I have some issues with her and now that she has no girls we can see that her superior management skills can’t carry the bar. Surprise Surprise. However, I was very curious as to what happened. After leaving Dejavu we bumped into somebody who knows a bit about Cowboy. He told us that the girls (and not only from Dejavu but also Midnite and Our Place which are owned by the same owner) have fled to Shebas, Suzie Wong’s, Joy, and even Dollhouse. No reason was given but should be interested to see how this all develops.

Ah, but those bars still have lots of coloured lights.

    They’ll be fine. Right?

7: Baccara was packed. Joy was packed but didn’t take a seat because the lineup was plumpy. Afterskool was rammed. Dollhouse wasn’t busy. The Dejavu thing was not a slow night thing, believe me.

A quick After Hours note, Spicy was HORRIBLE last night. Half full and way too many guys, most of whom were dancing drunk on the podiums. Spice on the other hand was RAMMED and pumping til 6am. Spice is kicking everybody’s after hours ass.

“…and way too many guys, most of whom were dancing drunk on the podiums.”

sounds exactly like tiger disco in patong, phuket.

Was on Cowboy on Sunday night. Shark seems to have by far the best line-up.

Rawhide had their dance contest last night and it was excellent. I can’t seem to get a handle on whether it is the same time every week or just up to them when they feel like it. Last night’s contest started at midnight — so, Wednesdays at midnight?

All the tables were full but the place didn’t have that packed feel that it has on a Friday or Saturday night. The dance contest features basically the 12 best looking girls from Rawhide with the occasional Long Gun girl. Each has a number and they dance for a good 30 minutes, maybe more, you pick the top three, the winning girl gets 2,000 baht, second and third place get some money too. Some very sexy girls on display working for that prize money!! I’ve seen the contest about 4 times and I still can’t figure out why a place like that, which puts money into good costumes, etc. insists on stapling index cards with numbers on them to the costumes and writing the numbers on the girls in black ink (sharpies?)…I mean, how much does a jar of that neon paint cost anyway..or even some proper numbered arm bands? I call it the Ocean effect (you know, you go to a bar or restaurant where they have glasses with Ocean brand stickers still on them as if the Thai staff would ever go to so much trouble as peel off the label when it is easier to leave it on).

Wednesday night late a Baccara felt a little dead, not packed at all. Dropped by Shark and was impressed by the number of girls still dancing on stage after 1am…they might have had more girls than Baccara, but not so many from the A team.

vibe. I think they are about the same but spice is newer and a nicer club with live music and coyote girls. lately though spicy is getting the khao san crowd that spice seems to be missing.

    prices about the same

they are both after hours joints.

some people would say spice is better at the moment but these things change week to week in my opinion. I get sick of the hip-ho at spice but the girls like it.

I was in Cowboy last night. Me and my mate ordered shots of tequila and it was clearly mixed with water. Tasted like almost half the drink was water. I complained to the manager who looked like didnt he give a f**k. He just assured me that if I ordered a drink “later” it would be good. So we ordered whisky and again, clearly water in the mix. Of course bitched about this to the manager and he just shredded his shoulders.anyone else had similar experiences in cowboy and spice girls in particular?

btw, I tried to show my friend some of the places I remembered to be not so good such as dollhouse and spice girls for contrast but they all turned out to be good. lost of new hot girls and nice shows instead of the usual chubby girls “dancing”. was pleasantly surprised.
