This just in. The Big Mango Bar, arguably the finest beer bar in Bangkok, let alone Nana Plaza, is to close. Like, tomorrow (Friday 26th October 2007).

This is probably the hardest post I will ever write but who knows. With great disappointment I must announce that this Thursday and Friday will be the last nights the Big Mango Bar will be open in Nana Plaza. We are announcing this first here because we don’t want the rumors to fly and we want our customers and readers to know the truth. We have always practiced honest bar-blogging so no reason to change that now.
I won’t say we lost our lease but I will see we have opted not to renew our lease in Nana Plaza. I would love to tell u we know where we are going but as of yet we do not but rest assured we plan on coming back - somewhere, somehow. Can’t really say more than that at this juncture. I hope anyone who can will come Thursday and Friday so that we can say our goodbyes and thank all of u who made the Mango happen. pmmp and I will most likely be around as much as possible on Thursday and for sure on Friday.
