Angelwitch For Sale

Nana Plaza’s “high class” showbar Angelwitch is for sale.

A friend made discreet enquiries last night, but it seems they’re looking for something in the region of ฿40 million (approx. £625,000 or $1.25 million US), which is beyond the limit of even my ATM card.

That seems rather steep to me, but we’ll see what happens.

I’ve shagged loads of gogo girls, so I reckon I could run a bar no problem. Anyone want to lend me ฿40 million?

I wonder what the books read as far a monthly net income? I’m sure it would take many many years to reap the return of the investment…..

“Invest ten million in a bar” I think is the scriptural text, but I’m allowing you the point.

Oh Boy, this’ll be good :-) When you consider all the front-of-house players: Matt, Matt’s Pim, Pim, Pim’s clan, Pimm’s Cup, Matt’s legal standing in Thailand, Nan Plaza’s current legal standing in Thailand and oh well, yeah, OK, Why not? David the Ravid ’s newly revealed web wizard skills. . . . . . This is all just too forking eye-feck-ing-ron-ic for words. . . . . . in a, um, strictly, er, low-budget, noir-ish, David Lynch sort of way.

As a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) said to me yesterday, the value at AngleWitch is Pim; so unless she is one of the assets in the sale, all you’re buying is an uncertain lease.

Do Thailand bar owners bang their own bar girl employees? And are boom boom test-drives by the owner mandatory on the intitial interviews with the ladys? I’ve always wanted to know….if so, maybe I’ll pay the 40 mil…

I believe “hands off the staff” is generally considered the first rule of running a bar…

Ki Nok. I think most good bars would have a strict hands off policy. I once went into a bar in angeles city and was listening to the old, rude, fat, smelly bar owner talk about banging all his girls - I promptly left without finishing my drink.

Of course that is not to say bar owners have not done some “recruiting” or conduct proper exit interviews…

Some Thai bar owners take a Lily from each of there bars back to there home ranch once a year. Sounds like a lot of fun to me. There given a open choice with no comeback.

This is so interesting. I met Matt and Pim before they moved to Pattaya and I knew Dave the Rave from when he was the manager at Hollywood II. I hear that Angelwitch in Pattaya is huge but I’ve never been there. I’ve been to Angelwitch in Nana Plaza many times but always leave when the shows start. I can only sit through the same shows so many times.
I think Angelwitch got better when it expanded but the last couple of years the bargirls have taken control and now the inmates are running the asylum. I liked it better before when the customer came (no pun intended) first and the “dancers” didn’t call the shots.
Angelwitch’s profits on the skid? No tears from me.
I have a friend who invested in Hollywood II two years ago and has yet to recoup his initial investment. Buyer beware! Unless you’re just in it for the prestige and don’t care about profits.
And YES the managers and owners do sample the wares if they’re so inclined. The girls haven’t completely taken over yet.

anyone know the standard fare with owning a go-go bar as a ferang? would it have to go in a thais name or would i have to be a silent partner? iv been giving it some thought but dont know if its worth the hassle
if you owned a go-go itd be hard not to bang your staff every once in a while?
