Apache Closed

Out on a jaunt last night, I spotted that Soi Cowboy’s Apache bar has closed for refurbishments. The girls have been reassigned to Sheba’s and Suzie Wong until the work is completed.

Contrary to various reports elsewhere, Pam’s is still open, as are Nana Plaza’s Cathouse and all Rainbow bars. Silver Dragon is still being refurbished.

More on Soi Cowboy later.

[Update: Rainbow 4 may be in for a 60-day shutdown from May 15.

Hat tip: The Farang Speaks 2 Much.]

Says a lot about a go-go when it is closed for a week before anyone reports it :-)

I can’t remember if I had ever been inside Cathouse. Maybe just took photos of the girls outside on one of the trips.

Cathouse is a beer bar on the second floor of NEP (across from Big Mango). No go-go dancers, but the waitresses are friendly enough and don’t look bad in jeans & t-shirt. Famed for it’s “all you can drink” happy hour, it’s a fairly average bar with a great location.

Both the Cat House and Pam’s have been sold to new owners in the past month. I don’t know who bought Pam’s, but it would have been a brave soul, or someone with a fantastic business plan. Great location, but no go-go license, so it needs a ‘concept’.

All spot-on. The Cathouse’s “all you can drink” offer seems to attract the kind of people who I prefer to avoid. I prefer to avoid their waitresses too. The only cute girl I ever saw in there was the Thai manager’s girlfriend, hence the only unavailable girl in there. Just my luck.

I visited Pam’s once, about a year ago. I haven’t even looked at it since. That tells you everything you need to know, I think. Good luck to the new owner!

So the word is that Pam’s was not actually sold but someone came by and offered the landlord more rent than Pam was able to pay. So it changes hands next month but no one is quite sure what will happen to it. I am trying to find out who the new renter is. More soon.
