Scanning the paper the other day and was just marveling at some of the headlines. The one I was most concerned about what was the Durex Global Sexual Wellbeing Survey. It is tough to get all the data online but the paper is basically saying that Asia is not getting very much. I have always wondered are the locals getting as much as the foreigners and based on the survey it looks like maybe they are not. It seems the Asians overall think work is more important than sex. Here is the link to the Thai results. The bottom line for me is I work to combine my sex life and my career as much as I can and it looks like I am doing better than the average but it does not appear that the normal Thais are getting as much as they let on.
Moving on. If u have ever been involved in a construction project in Thailand, or even waiting for a new condo, then you will know that most projects are NEVER finished on time. I think the new airport mass transit link must be the best example of this ever. It seems the construction team was given some of the land to build the link on about 2 years too late. So they are asking for a 398 day extension but some people are suggesting that will needs a 652 day extension. Pretty soon they may have to measure it in half-lifes.
Although the Thais are not getting any it seems the Panda Bears in Chiang Mai and the Koala Bears are since they are both pregnant. Great stuff but seems the Thai girls are always pregnant too but maybe I just don’t understand how it all works.
U should know by now that the Thais are very superstitious but all it takes is a quick look at the Amulet trade to get a sense of the money that is spent on those amulets that the Thais wear or hang around their car mirrors. One of the last Amulet blessing ceremonies in Nakhon Si Thammarat has brought in about 1 billion baht. The temple in charge of the blessing will get about 50,000 baht of that. One of the ladies selling the Amulets is grossing about 100,000 baht a day. Better than the local Eglish teachers last time I checked. Also - currently this is a tax free business but they may be about to change. Of course if they rule that it is for religious purposes only then no tax. Right. Like all the items related to Buddhism around Thailand produce no money for the monks outside the temples. 
First draft of the new Thai Constitution is out. As the book that shall not be named correctly points out - each coup cycle is typically followed by a period of inactivity with a new constitution that gets developed further curtailing democracy and further increasing judicial powers. Seems like this time is no different given that the last full attempt at democracy gave us Thaksin. Let’s hope we get this sorted out soon. Thailand needs full democracy with enough checks and balances to prevent Thaksin #2 but this might be easier said then done.
It appears the leaders of China have tuned into this blog and realize what they need to do. Given all the poor people losing their farm land and in need of a job - my suggestion is a national spittle SWAT team mostly focused on cleanup since my guess is the Chinese are not going to stop their public displays of phlegm throwing anytime soon.
America is struggling with the modern day technical atrocities but hopefully this means they have time to increase their ranking in the durex survey. Lastly the new job satisfaction survey is out but being a manager of a gogo bar is not on there. Must be a flawed survey.
