This place is really really really depressing. I walked in one night around 1:30 and both the farangs and the (let’s call them) girls there were a sad bunch.

I thought it closed at 1am.
Like I said in the article, it’s grim slim pickings late at night. Try hitting it early on a Saturday afternoon, towards the end of the month when the university girls’ rent is due…

I tend to steer clear of anywhere where the menu’s mostly in German.

… and that includes the “Old German Beerhouse” (Soi 11), where I’ve witnessed (in my beady-eyed, note-taking way) some apparently fruitful discussions taking place. I don’t think you’d have much luck with the waitresses (they’re kept occupied by the ever-present manager) but working girls seem to be tolerated at the circular bar if they drop by.

I’m not sure why, but it was open. 2 weeks or so ago, on a Tuesday night. But the crowd was just awful, an old farang with some fresh bruises and cuts on his face, some ancient girls, another farang who was eating beetles or some kind of shit like that from a bag (I have my limits as far as how native I want to go!), etc. Really, it felt like a circus of horrors.
Speaking of uni girls, I met two who work at Nana; somehow, they say, they manage to keep their place of employment hidden from colleagues and teachers. They are both quite gorgeous. I am trying to talk one into wearing her uniform next time she comes over… I’ve spent many a sad morning on the BTS fantasizing about the college girls in their short skirts, it’s time to make it happen
Actually I did ask her about her uniform, why is it only about 20 cm long - ‘it vely comfoltable’ was the answer. God bless her and her little ’skilt’.

Biergarten has another branch, somewhere like Soi 17 or 19; a tuk-tuk runs between them.
Who has been to the 'other branch'? What's it like?
Would appreciate a report.

The beer garden on Soi 19 has been pretty much empty every time I've been past. Never bothered even going inside.
