The last time I was in Patpong at night was 13 ½ years ago. It was my first time in Bangkok and I’d never heard of Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy. There was no World Wide Web full of naughty nightlife information. The guidebook said go to Patpong and avoid the upstairs bars. I did. Fought my way through tables of crap being sold, had one drink in some really boring go-go bar and left. Sadly, I found during my triumphant return Saturday, not much has changed. More party details soon folks but pencil in this Friday for the Top O the Month Mango Party. This will be your last night to drink in the bars until sometime late Sunday - if at all. I expect this prohibition to be strictly enforced since it is the Bangkok elections. Bars are suppose to stop serving Saturday at 6:00pm and may be able to re-serve at midnight on Sunday. No one has to close but there will be no booze served.
As to the party. Expect Happy Hour all night, air-conditioning and free music. The rest I am fuzzy on but never fear. We will think of something.

I recently departed Thailand. I was of course saddened to leave my beloved land of smiles. The people are friendly, the food great, the prices for goods and services reasonable, but most importantly the women are absolutely stunning. I just loved riding the sky train or walking around just about anywhere, everywhere my eyes wondered there was ample amounts of beautiful women. I would fall in love (lust) hundreds of times a day.
I cannot get enough of the Thai beauties, dark, light, medium complexioned, I love them all!. How you can ever get tired of looking at scantily clad beautiful Thai women is beyond me. If that day ever comes for me I will surely commit suicide as there is nothing in this world that I derive such a selfish pleasure from! Few things come close to the emotions that I experience when I walk into the first go-go after being away from Thailand for a year or so. Absolute euphoria, nirvana, I can’t describe it, it’s a grand feeling I’m sure most of us know.

My plan to revisit all my old haunts and sample a few new places were unfortunately & seriously derailed by a couple of things that happened, but I’ll be heading back soonish, so will try to fill the gaps next time.

The Pattaya Ghost - Issue #16: Barfine Robbery
Published by on September 28th, 2008 in Pattaya. 20 CommentsOne of the things that has surprised me over the past month is the amount of whining and surprised outrange from Bangkok purveyors of P4P over the price of barfines in Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. More than a few times I’ve seen comments griping out how barfines have climbed to 600 baht in this place or that.
In Pattaya, I’d happy to take 600 baht any day of the week.
While drinking, shagging go-go girls, eating, sleeping and, well, doing just about anything in Pattaya is less expensive than in the capital, barfines are oddly more expensive.

Published by on September 26th, 2008 in Reader Submissions. 34 CommentsStories from a first timer in Bangkok, to all newcomers to Bangkok; aka city of angels; aka sin city; aka the city that never sleeps, I just spent 8 days staying right off of Sukhumvit and Soi 15 at the Royal President Hotel which was a really good stay but later for that. The matter at hand here is the night life and the women; it honestly did not make a difference what quality of hotel you were staying in once a lovely PYT has decided to go with you. Although it did make an impression on the freelance traffic that made its way through my doors; I could tell by the comments “ooh nice room” or “this is expensive” in cute broken English however the fact is that they were already decided on what was going down before we walked in. A few things to watch out for that took me for a ride the first couple of days and had me parting ways with a few thousand fun designated baht. I mean seriously I thought I was pretty street savvy you know? Growing up in the city and all… but these guys and girls on streets of Bangkok have some calculated shit that will have your head spinning.
