As of August 15th, McDonalds is serving breakfast in 4 locations from 5-11 a.m. Locations are CP Silom, The Mall Ramkamheng, Royal Garden Pattaya and Rajdamoern.
The alarming lack of Sausage and Egg McMuffins in Thailand was previously the only reason one might consider not living here. Now, there is no turning back. That is all.
The CM2 is an upscale disco located in the basement of the Novotel Hotel in Siam Square. Prices at CM2 are on the high end but normal for a hotel disco in Bangkok—there is a 240-400 THB cover charge and a 750ml bottle of Jim Beam with mixers is 3000 THB.
Last summer CM2 was one of my favorite places in Bangkok. Many of the FL TG’s from Gulliver’s would head over to the CM2 when Gulliver’s closed and I must have tagged along a dozen times last summer. (1)
The house band, The All Stars, was talented, full of energy, and sang mostly hip hop and modern music. Both of the male leads in the band are great singers and dancers and one of the two female singers was super hot and really knows how to move as well as sing.

Well folks. Last post from rainy Penang. I am so glad to be coming back to BKK!
After my Post 2 escapades I figured there was no use trying to top that so I just hung out - reading, writing and exploring a little bit. I guess if you have never been to Malaysia one could do okay in Penang for a few days but after living in Bangkok it is really tough to enjoy this place. I did my best but Bangkok rules.
Oh okay, it’s not an election, it’s a referendum. But “lefelendum” isn’t funny. Not as funny as an erection, anyway. Especially one of mine…
Anyway, to business. There is a referendum on the new constitution on Sunday. Monday may or may not be a holiday, depending on the place of work. Banks, I’m told, will be open. More importantly, so will the bars. Waiting on final confirmation, but it looks like the nightlife will be entirely unaffected, at least in Bangkok.
Electric Blue in Patpong are throwing a party tomorrow night, Saturday 18th. All the booze you can drink for ฿1,000 between 7pm and 9pm. Draught beer’s only ฿55 a glass though, so individual servings may be cheaper unless you plan to quaff more than 18 beers in two hours. After 9pm, it’s 2-for-1. I’ll be there, pissed as a fart.
Staff at Spice Girls on Soi Cowboy inform me that the boss has bought the Cowboy One bar next door. Plans are apparently afoot to combine both venues into a larger gogo bar. This one’s unconfirmed at the moment, but sounds likely enough. [Update: I went past last night, and Cowboy One was dead - no lights. Looks like this one's got legs].
I’ve been out of town this week on “bidniss”, hence the lack of updates. I almost didn’t publish the last piece, since it was kind of rushed, and I didn’t feel I’d really made my point very well. Seems to have struck a nerve with a lot of people though, so thanks for the compliments. Shows what I know, eh?
[Update 2: The current poll in the sidebar is for votes on the best gogo bar in Nana Plaza. Next month will be the same for Soi Cowboy, followed by Patpong in October. November will pit the winners of all three polls against each other, and it's been suggested that the greatest gogo bar of all be the location for an almighty piss-up around Christmas or New Year. Vote wisely...]

As you all know I am in Penang. I don’t like it much but I managed to enjoy myself.
I should be picking up my Visa in a few hours and then hopefully convincing Air Asia to let me leave on an earlier flight than I had booked. Maybe if I bitch about my express boarding experience they will show me some love. However I doubt it. I stayed in the WORST guesthouse ever but I just don’t want to talk about it. I am still here to tell about it though. Breakfast at Banana New, not New Banana, is okay but the Free WiFi is still the bomb. Iced Coffee is keeping me awake since I slept for about 30 minutes last night in between fending off the giant mosquitoes, the geckos and the loud Chinese bantering. Living the dream. It was 8:00 PM last night when I logged off, ate some dinner and decided to explore. Purely for blog copy.
Couple things on the wire about Tasky baby. I sure don’t miss him but I bet he misses Thailand! I know he is loaded but my guess is it kills him that he can’t come to Thailand and show off. Eats him up but thankfully he gets to fly his barber around to keep the coiffed do looking ever so good.
Visa application in and on time. It is the only reason I come to Penang - my yearly pilgrimage to renew my right to reside in Thailand. I don’t want to even get into how much of pain it is to be a legal contributor to Thailand’s economy but I still love the place. Anyway. Thought I would share since many others have to do these trips and need the info. Of course there are other things to do while I am here but I have yet to run into any baby oil carrying grandmothers but give me time. In this issue - why Air Asia sucks, don’t bring liquids, book hotel rooms online ahead of time and fear the ladyboy looking possibly Malaysian looking but could be Indian looking but not sure if they are females yelling come here from inside dark guest houses.
