Update! Looks like this info is good and the close order will happen on May 15. The rumor is a 60 day shutdown. As stated before they could buy their way out of this but it sounds like the girls are already being told to report to duty at the other Rainbow locations on the 15th. Thanks to Bare1 for the scoop. We are asking around trying to get some confirmations of the details but I can tell u the police presence in the police has been heavy lately with many issues around early closings.
I can say that the men in brown have been all over the plaza lately. Closing things at 1 and supposedly checking into underage girls. For the record - believe what u will. No bar is suppose to have girls under 20 going with customers. Meaning you may think 18-19 your old girls are fair game but not if they are in the bars. That is illegal from a bar perspective. We can also debate that anytime a girl is rendering services for money - the said girl should be 20 and over. This is the police definition. Whether or not the girl is in the bar. Although there is a huge gray area around this and we can debate it all night. Hard to debate though when prostitution is illegal anyway in Thailand.
Seems RB4 has been going a little late. We all know that since many times after we close we head over there for drinks. Plenty of RB4 regulars will tell u there are always some girls under 20 working the pole. What we mean here is 18-19 year olds girls. Seems the men in brown decided to make an example of someone. So rumor is RB4 will be closed for a while with the staff, those 20 and over of course - shifting over to RB 1-3. Might have to check it out if true since all those girls packed into 3 bars might burst the Rainbow bubble a bit. Cheaper short times? Better attitudes? Wishful thinking but still plenty of tight ass to check out.

Rumor Update:
I chatted with a security guard and he has not heard anything. Currently they are performing the normal opening ceremony out in front of RB 4 and appear to be getting ready to open.
I can say with confidence that there is currently a tug of war going on with the police and Nana bar owners. Usually the police win.
Keep in mind though when bars get shut down threats the police are normally looking for money. Money that may be spent to stay open. Staying open is always better than closing. RB 4 being the biggest earner in the plaza makes me think there would be some dealing going on.

Yeah. Guess we will find out. It has been fairly well substantiated by other bar owners and police contacts. The 15th was mentioned as the date so if it comes and goes with no close down then we are wrong. But we also know there is some dealing going on to get out from under it as well.

Well. I think there are many and since I never go into AW I usually will check out Gspot, upstairs hollywood(s), pretty lady, mandarin, playskool and occasionally the big mango bar.

As of today still open. Seems there is still wheeling and dealing going on but now people and some other sites are saying the 20th.

I asked a friend in there and she said it definately won’t be closing, but it came up later and she said yes there are problems. She said she lied because she didn’t want it to happen. They have been told that maybe it will close but as far as she knows they keep paying the police and too much from what she says.

Jack. Lets be clear. It is well know that they got a close order. What they are doing is paying to get out of the close - what most owners would do. So I would not really call it disinformation. As I stated from the first post - my guess is they would fight the close order and pay to get out of it.
