Bangkok Bar/Go-Go Update

Police presence was in full force this past Friday and Saturday. All
bars were required to submit five of their staff for a piss test. Also,
bars were forced to close around 1:15. Not sure of the sudden crackdown
but will keep ya posted. It was interesting having a piss test at the
Mango, our first one and we did pass. Two piss technicians swirling
around the yellow juice while customers enjoyed their burger. Joy.
- PJ is doing better and made an appearance at Lucky Luke’s Saturday
after his past week in the hospital. Go PJ and Go Sabres for PJ
- Playskool continues to rule with the most talent and great shows
- Hollywood Rock and Voodoo on the first floor, very bad and pushy staff. These bars continue to not get it

Rainbow bars. Just a word or two about Rainbows 1-4. When it comes to
talent there is no better than the Rainbow bars. It’s a flesh factory
plain and simple. Hundreds of gourgeous and mostly petite beauties. The
four bars are always packed mostly with Japanese. The music has now
gotten better too. They have recently changed from fast-beat dance to
more cutting edge hip-hop and dance. A few big drawbacks to the
Rainbows however, very pushy and annoying staff (ignore them and they
don’t go away especially the fat butch one’s), stories of farangs
getting ripped off, high drink prices, and girls with big attitudes
charging top dollar. It boils down to this, most experienced punters
avoid the Rainbows unless they just want to see flesh and have a drink,
or to show their newbie buddies

After Hours Update

Soi Tunnel (betw Suk Soi 5 and Suk Soi 7) is still the king this week.
I found out the name this week, it’s The Sanook Bar but I like Soi Tunnell better. The place gets
going around 3am so be patient. Many opportunities for the average
punter.
- Soi 1 Josephine’s is still open but losing in popularity still as people discover Soi Tunnel

Sin Club on the third floor has been open and somewhat popular. Also I
have heard that Sin Club 2nd floor disco is again open. I haven’t been
since they reopened but have always disliked these. Not even close to
Soi Tunnell. 3rd floor has muted music and 2nd floor is mostly drunk
guys. Will check it out this week and update
- Nana Disco continues
on and is especially good during the low season. Girls outnumber guys 5
to 1. Go there around midnight and find some early-bird cuties. One
note on the 400 baht entry for guys, you can apply that 400 baht to the
bar for one drink credit. So, if your drink costs 200 baht you get that
one free 200 baht drink. If the drink is a 600 baht kamikazee pitcher then you
get 400 baht off

Daytime Fun
It’s Noon and you wake up
feeling a little frisky. Well, you could put on the local tube and hope
the Chic Fashion Channel is showing a Summer-Spring collection. Or,
maybe you have a DVD player and made a back-alley deal for some good
old-fashioned XXX the night before. However, if you desire something a
bit more romantic than a tube of KY and your left hand there is a
supply to meet your demand.
- Soi 7 Beer Garden (BG)
This is tops
on the list for sure. Quite a miraculeous place in it’s simplicity.
Located on Suk Soi 7 about a two-minute walk off Suk on the left it
caters to punters looking for some relatively safe freelancers (safe in
that there are many regulars there). The BG contains a large bar
with a few smaller bars and restaurant booths in the back. Holds about
60 people. This is not a fancy place although they are currently
working on it and adding a second floor.. The bar is typically filled
with 30-40 freelancers. You sit at the bar and wait for the magic to
happen. Why does this bar work? Imagine a bar in your hometown. It
would be mostly guys in the first place and your lucky if you make eye
contact or land a cow with your hopeless one-liner. The tables are
turned at the BG (see Twilight Zone). There are many attractive young
ladies looking to pick you up. Yes, there are some crusty one’s there too but if you hang out long enough you will most likely
find a gem. Make eye contact, buy a drink or two to suss out the
personality and away you go. No bar fines and the prices range from
1000-3000. Girls will know where the short-time hotels are but they
mostly go to Soi 7/1. A more discreet alternative than walking to soi
7/1 hand-in-hand is to get a taxi in front of the BG, make a left on
Suk and then left on Soi 11, and then curl around to Penthouse or Playboy (PB)
- Gulliver’s
A
higher-scale pool/sports theme bar located on Soi 5 a little past
Foodland on the right. The food is average as are the cocktails but the
Challenge Pool is above average, and the bar is sprinkled with
freelancers.
- Soi 0/Soi 1
A collection of beer bars are located
on Suk Soi 0 and Soi 1. Friendly places opened during the day with a
200-300 baht bar fine for the ladies if you are so inclined. Some of
these places have pool tables too.
- Soi Cowboy (SC)
Unknown to
many since most think SC opens only at night, there are some Go-Go’s
that open their bar area during the day. The women in these bars are in
their street clothes and typically work as dancers at night. They are
very frisky in the day too and most of these places have short-time
rooms upstairs. Walk along SC during the day and look for the open
bars, Suzie Wong’s is one of these
- Eden Club
An original sex
club bar like no other in Bangkok Eden is located on Suk Soi 7/1. They
will cater to just about any sex fantasy you have and open around Noon
- Lolita’s
A
BJ/Short-Time bar located off Suk Soi 8 that opens around Noon. Walk up
Soi 8 and make a right at the 7. You will typically see 5-10 young girls
in red and white school girl outfits standing outside. Don’t be
pressured by any one girl and just pick the one you like. Price is 700
baht for a BJ plain and simple. The girl takes you upstairs to a large
curtain-divided room, draws the curtain and goes to town. It’s not
glamorous and you may hear groans from the next curtain over but it is
seedy, and some guys just like that. The girls are good at what they do
or so I’ve heard ;). They also have short-time rooms upstairs if you
desire more than just lips on your pole
- Massage/Soapies
Many of the “happy ending” massage and soapie joints open around Noon and some are 24hrs. Tulip is one of the best

Football > Sex
You
know you have been living in Bangkok too long when a football match
like Arsenal vs Barcelona takes precendence over potentially free sex
with a gorgeous young lady. A friend of mine, or it could have been me
;), made that decision this past week. Well, it was a great game and a
new lady was met after the game so Bangkok logic did prevail.

Tales From The Street
Yes,
another disgusting one. This tale comes from a friend that enjoyed
going south on the ladies. He couldn’t resist it and loved getting the
ladies excited. However, his journey’s south came to an abrupt ending when
he was diagnosed with a yeast infection on his tongue. It took a month
of painful application and foul tasting medication to get rid of the
infection. I met him recently and interestingly enough he is back to
his old ways. Some guys will really make sacrifices for love or what
may or may not taste like love.
